High in the mountains of NE Tennessee, this "feet up" luxurious Inn welcomes everyone to come and "set a spell". Learn to live on Mountain time where life slows down and you have time to smell the roses. Surrounded by the majesty and beauty of Mother Nature, you will feel like you have come home to a favorite aunt's place. "Pampering Perfected" is our goal and we must be doing something right since many guests return time and time again. This log lodge was built on one of the few flat places on the property next to the Cherokee National Forest and when the trees were cleared....oh my! A "Million Dollar View"!

Hiking trails right outside the back door; a koi pond (the fish love to be fed); the sound of birds and wind, not cars and sirens; clouds drifting overhead as you swing in the hammock; full breakfast each morning - outside in nice weather, inside by the wood burning fireplace or formal dining room when the weather gets cooler; no dishes to wash or meals to plan. Within 45 minutes or less there are myriad activities for the entire family from hiking a section of the Appalachian Trail to attending live theater at the Barter. Don't forget, although the Inn is for couples...the Creekside Chalet and House on Watauga Lake are for the entire family or group of friends. And the Inn can be rented in its entirety as well - come play golf at Red Tail; boat on Watauga Lake; follow the Quilt Trail and so much more. The Inn is perfect for corporate breaks - no one will know you are here! Time to make next year's plans.

Looking forward to sharing the magic of the mountains with you.

For my husband and I to have only stayed 1 night, Vikki was an exceptional host! I was amazed at her age and how long she had been running her bed and breakfast! When you walk in Her home, you feel so welcome! We stumbled on a piece of heaven here! A last minute getaway to go and look at property, which happened to be a Valentines Day getaway as well!! We absolutely loved it and would definitely go back!

This is a charming B&B in the Tennessee mountains right on the TN/NC border, and very close to the Appalachian Trail. It is a little more than a half-hour from Boone. There is plenty of outdoor activities in the immediate area, the centerpiece being the large Watauga Lake and water activities. The structure is relatively new and was built to be a B&B. Rooms have private baths, are very quiet. The entire facility is very clean, with modern amenities. Baths are spacious with large showers and jacuzzi baths. At nearly 2500 foot elevation, a great escape from the summer heat, but also for any time of year. The proprietors are delightful, and the other guests were enjoyable to share breakfast with. We look forward to returning.

My wife and I enjoyed a recent two-night stay at Iron Mountain Inn. Top-notch accommodations, including the dumbwaiter so we didnít have to lug our bags up the stairs. Our room was spacious and clean. The views of the Appalachians from our room and the rest of the house and deck were spectacular. Our host, Vikki, was helpful as we made plans to explore the area, and she prepared fabulous breakfasts. We enjoyed a hike in the woods on her mountaintop property. We would highly recommend Iron Mountain Inn.

This is my new favorite place for beauty, relaxation, great dining and wonderful recreational activities a mere 2.5 hour drive from my home!Anyone who lives in North Carolina, Tennessee or Virginia nearish the mountains needs to come check this place out. The views cannot be beat and the things to do in the area are too numerous to count. The Innkeeper is is friendly and serves delicious breakfasts. You'd be amazed at the nearby restaurants for lunch and dinner - wonderful! And at a very affordable rate. This place cannot be beat.

Just returned home after 3 nights at the Iron Mountain Inn. Good lodging in the Mountain City area can be challenging and as we began our trip, we had no idea where we were going to stay. Our first stop in the area was the Watauga Winery where Wayne was very helpful. We asked him where to stay and he suggested the Iron Mountain Inn. He promptly call Vikki the innkeeper and introduced us to her. Vikki was great and a very interesting lady to talk to. When we got to the Inn it became very obvious that this was just what we were looking for. The views were incredible and the rocking chairs on the porch were calling to us to sit a spell and watch the sun and clouds play on the mountains in a most relaxing way. Vikki gave us a tour of the Inn and the different rooms. After we settled in, we quizzed Vikki about the area and she was extremely helpful in guiding us through a most enjoyable visit to the area. When we planned our next day, it became obvious that we would be up and out early to explore the area and Vikki accommodated our need by arranging an early breakfast for us. We had a great time and I especially enjoyed the steam shower! Looking forward to returning again in the not too distant future.

Hands down, this B&B is now my all time favorite. Vikki Woods and her specially designed inn were the answers to our dreams and more. The inn is beautiful, comfortable and perfectly appointed, and Ms. Woods' hospitality, thoughtfulness, and cooking are second to none. I will visit the Iron Mountain Inn and my new favorite innkeeper every chance I get!
