Standing since 1750, the Litchfield Plantation House Bed & Breakfast in Pawley’s Island, SC was constructed on King's grant land owned by Peter Simons, a rice planter. The property consisted of over 1900 acres and stretched from the Waccamaw River to the oceanfront, then known as Magnolia Beach. In 1794 the property was equally divided between Simons' two sons, thereby establishing the properties of Willbrook and Litchfield Plantations.

Two centuries later, Litchfield is the only original plantation mansion on the Waccamaw that faces a live oak avenue, and it continues to captivate visitors with its breathtaking beauty. As you enter Litchfield Plantation through the wrought iron gates, and ride down the quarter-mile avenue of live oaks shrouded in Spanish moss, you feel transported in time, your heartbeat slows, and your cares slip away. Litchfield Plantation’s unique atmosphere has attracted many corporate travelers and group retreats in addition to leisure guests. A few have become so enamored of this secluded place that they have built homes here. Zagat Survey recently characterized the Plantation as "excellent," with the highest rating of all accommodations on South Carolina’s "Grand Strand." This rating qualifies the Plantation to be included in the "Top 50 U.S. Inns & B&B's.

Refunds will be made only if cancellations are made 14 days in advance of arrival. Please understand a deposit assures that your accommodation will be available as confirmed, and insures the inn that the accommodation is sold as confirmed. Therefore, when situations arise necessitating your cancellation within the 14 day limit, we do sympathize, but we must maintain our business policy.
