Lured by a botanical banquet, songbirds pause in the lush wetlands of Songbird Prairie. Sweet songs of bluebirds invite you to wander on deep-shaded paths that wind through sheaves of prairie grass and wild rose. Or, choose to dream beneath the patterns of tree shadows that surround the wetlands.
Located just 1 hour from downtown Chicago and 2 1/2 hours from Indianapolis, we are conveniently located minutes from major shopping, a variety of restaurants, water parks, golf courses, Star Plaza Theatre, Valparaiso University, Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore and Taltree Arboretum.
Songbird Prairie Bed & Breakfast features songbird-theme guest rooms. Bedrooms have queen/king beds, warming fireplaces, and private baths with soothing jacuzzis to ease the cares of everyday life. Since country air works up an appetite, we go all out for breakfast.
Evening brings the music of crickets and frogs and intensifies the scent of meadow flowers. Later while the constellations shift in the night sky, guests may retire to their rooms where a haze of curtains and classic Ethan Allen furnishings suggest the leisurely days of a colonial country home.
