The Samuel Durfee House is a Newport Rhode Island bed & breakfast inn built in 1803 by banker Samuel Durfee of Providence. We are conveniently located downtown in Newport's Yachting Village. Our Newport, RI bed and breakfast is just a block from the harbor, restaurants and shops on Thames Street and 1 1/2 blocks from Bellevue Avenue with its mansions, shops, and the Tennis Hall of Fame. We offer guest king, queen, and double guest rooms perfect for romantic couples and girlfriends getaways. The inn also features free wireless internet. The house is air conditioned in the summer months. Off-street parking is provided.
We invite you to enjoy a delicious, gourmet breakfast each morning in the parlor or back patio. Specialties of the house include Portuguese sweet bread French toast, crepes Benedict, Frittatta, and mixed berry pancakes. We also serve Newport Coffee Traders Gourmet Coffee, fresh fruit, home baked bread and a variety of juices daily. Afternoon refreshments are served each day in the dining room of our bed and breakfast. |

A full gourmet breakfast is served each morning normally between 8:30 & 10 am, coffee and tea are available at 7am. Afternoon tea and coffee with a treat (typically cookies or brownies) are served daily. Snacks are also provided.

To accommodate our guests better, check-in is by arrangement. We just ask that you call or email us with a one to two hour window of when you would like to check-in.

Cancellation Policy:
|
|
A refund less $25 processing fee per room cancelled will be issued if cancelled 14 days or more in advance of the date of arrival. If cancelled less than 14 days in advance and by noon the day before arrival date, a merchandise credit less $50 processing fee per room cancelled will be issued, valid for one year toward a minimum of a two night stay. There is no refund or merchandise credit issued for cancellations after noon the day before arrival date or for early departures.
