Jim Meade - Innkeeper
Jim Meade grew up in Pennsylvania, served with the U.S. Army in Germany, earned a PhD in biology, and worked for 34 years in public service (mostly with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife). "In 2005, my home became Bear Mountain Lodge, where I now have the good fortune to meet a wonderful variety of exceptional, interesting folks. I enjoy outdoor activities, community service, Rotary activities and spending time with family."

Wilderness Room
This private, ground floor, well appointed suite has separate access from the lodge. Wood plank floors and log style walls give a woodsy hide-a-way feel. The large corner whirlpool tub, separate bathroom with shower, large peninsula fireplace and set of spa robes complement the locally handmade hickory bed and matching furniture. The adjoining TV / sitting room has a pull-out queen couch, gun case wardrobe, hickory rocker and bear footstool.

This cozy 2nd floor corner room with forest views has a large (8' x 12') walk-out deck with hot tub. The room has a queen bed with sturdy black cherry headboard and carved bear cub head posts and room features include fireplace, hickory coat hooks, old gun cabinet with shelves, LCD (thin) TV, refrigerator, set of spa robes and a handsome log-style bathroom that sports an original bear mural in the tiled shower.

Whitetail Room
The white cedar, locally hand-made, canopy log bed with matching chest and night stand faces a large fireplace with handcrafted pine mantel. The large, tiled bath has a Kohler whirlpool tub, separate corner shower and a vaulted ceiling. This grand 2nd floor room has a private balcony with a commanding view of the flower gardens. A flat screen TV / DVD, refrigerator and set of spa robes complete the room amenities.
