Welcome to The Jackson House Bed and Breakfast in Railroad, PA, on The Heritage Rail Trail only 3 miles from the Maryland line. Decorated with your comfort in mind, the inn is perfect for any romantic couple, girlfriend’s getaway or single traveler, offering guest rooms featuring king and queen beds, a screened in porch and Jacuzzi baths. During your stay at the Jackson House, relax in the garden by the waterfall, soak in the hot tub, stroll through the terraced gardens to the top of the hill for a view of the valley, or enjoy rocking on the front porch as the travelers pass by.

Our beautiful parlor is a perfect setting to meet with other guests, converse with friends, read a book, or admire the antique furnishings-- including a register from 1911 for the original Jackson House Hotel. The restored wood floors, stone walls, and 24” windowsills create the feeling of stepping back in time and enjoying the quality of life in the past. The current Jackson House Bed and Breakfast was built originally as a thirteen-room hotel in 1859 during a time when Railroad, Pennsylvania was quite a thriving, industrial town. During the early 1900’s the Jackson House Hotel was known as one of the finest along Northern Central Railroad. The steam heat and hot and cold running water were rare luxuries that most establishments could not afford during that time. The stone cistern that stored the hotel's water supply still remains intact today. The Jackson House is listed in the National Historic Registry.

Southern York County, PA has many sites to visit and tour, including eleven wineries on the Uncork York Map and Guide. There are factory tours, such as York Harley Davidson, Susquehanna Glass, Hershey, Utz, and Wolfgang Candy. You can also enjoy many York expo events like the street rod show in June, York Fair in Sept., antique shows, World's Greatest Yard Sale, fall festivals and Christmas craft fairs. Other attractions in the area include antique shops, the National Watch and Clock Museum, the Markets of Shrewsbury, outlet stores, and, of course, the Heritage Rail Trail and beautiful countryside. We are only a short drive to Gettysburg, Hershey Park, Lancaster, Harrisburg, Baltimore’s Inner Harbor, and only two miles off I-83. Make The Jackson House your Pennsylvania bed and breakfast.

We ask that cancellations be made within one week of your stay to give us an opportunity to offer your room to someone else. One night's rate is charged for cancellations made with less than 7 days notice.

Since many of our guests come to our inn for a romantic weekend or for a break from their kids, we do not host children on weekends. However, kids over 12 are welcome during the week.

The Bordello Room is pet-friendly, as there is a separate entrance/exit out to the backyard. There is an extra charge of $20.00 and we ask that pets be crated any time they are left alone in the room.
