The Thomas Bond House Bed & Breakfast provides a unique alternative to chain hotels in the heart of Philadelphia's Old City.

The 12 guestrooms have been carefully restored and exquisitely furnished with period furniture and authentic accessories to delight even the most discriminating of tastes. All rooms have private baths. In keeping with the custom of the Federal Period, the most luxurious accommodations are on the second floor. 2 of the guestrooms are arranged as suites with queen-size beds and full-size sofa beds and working fireplaces - one has an adjoining room available if desired.

On weekdays, we offer a continental plus breakfast featuring freshly-squeezed orange juice, homemade muffins, cakes and pastries, house made granola, cereal, oatmeal, guest's favorite fruit salad and more. On weekends, enjoy a hearty and delicious breakfast cooked by your innkeepers. We offer complimentary wine each evening and fresh baked cookies for a late night snack. Your innkeepers would be delighted to offer recommendations and make your dinner reservations at one of the many fine restaurants in the area, like the famous City Tavern located directly across the street. We can also book you theater tickets or provide more information on the numerous historic attractions and activities to engage in here in Philadelphia. Most historic attractions are within walking distance that can be located on the maps provided by the Inn. We are just 2 blocks away from the Delaware River Waterfront Pier/ Penn's Landing that hosts beautiful views of the Delaware River and New Jersey,Spruce Street Harbor Park, the Independence Seaport Museum, seasonal activities such as ice skating and roller skating, concerts, festivals, flea markets and more.

Thomas Bond House in historic Philly is a treat to experience. The only B&B in the historic Independence Park, it is perfectly located. We felt what it would have been like to live well in the 1700s, with modern conveniences of course. The ambiance is perfect, and the sense of history that abounds gives you a new perspective. The rooms were very comfortable (make sure you dont mind climbing stairs). The usual innkeepers were on holiday, and the temporary innkeeper was a delightful, gracious and warm woman. For the innkeepers to choose such an outstanding substitute speaks volumes for the attentiveness of the owners. We see why people around the world line up to stay at this celebrated property. Well be back, for sure!

The Thomas Bond house was more than just a B&B; it's historical significance is exactly why we came to Philly's Olde City District with George Wahington, Ben Franklin, and Thomas Jefferson all being dinner guests of Thomas Bond, right here in this very house in which we stayed. It's conveniently right across the street from the most historical restaurant in Philly- the City Tavern, where our founding fathers met there as the newly formed First Continental Congress (of which the food was so good we took more than one meal there). The Bond House location is superb: four blocks directly east of Independance Hall and walking distance to everything such as the Betsy Ross House & Ben Franklin's house, Elfreth's Alley, Christ Church and the eclectic neighborhood around 2nd St to the north and Society Hill to the south (a great after-dinner stroll). The Inn itself was clean and the host was so very accomodating. I would not hesitate to recommend this historic Inn to anyone who appreciates not only American History, but very fine accomodations.
