Restored in 2006, Speedwell Forge Bed and Breakfast in Lititz, Pennsylvania features guestrooms that include private bath, central air, wireless Internet, and most rooms feature a fireplace and whirlpool tub. Located on a 120-acre farm between a lake and natural park, Speedwell Forge Bed & Breakfast is the perfect place to get away from it all, yet only minutes from the historic small towns of Lititz, Ephrata, and all of Pennsylvania Dutch County.
The Paymaster's Office, a private cottage with king-sized bed, whirlpool bath, vaulted ceiling, and gas fireplace, is the ultimate romantic getaway. The Summer Kitchen suite, a two-story cottage with a queen bed upstairs and two twins downstairs, is ideal for family vacations. The inn features ample amenities including a whirlpool tub, gas fireplace, Cable TV with VCR/DVD, kitchenette and dining area. Kathryn's Room, in the mansion, has a canopy queen bed and claw foot whirlpool bath for two.

Cancellation Policy: |
By making a reservation, you are agreeing to our policies:
Cancellation Policy: * When a guest makes a reservation for a stay at Speedwell Forge B&B we agree to turn away all other requests for the room you select and you agree to pay the rate quoted for the number of days you reserve it. A small bed and breakfast such as ours is significantly affected by cancellations and we appreciate your consideration of our policies. Therefore, we adhere to a strict cancellation policy. * We require 10 days cancellation notice on all reservations.
Cancellations within 10 days of your scheduled arrival date will be charged one night's stay or 50% of the total reservation amount, whichever is greater. Cancellations within 2 days of your scheduled arrival date will be charged the full amount of the reservation. This includes "No-shows" and premature check-outs. Vacation Insurance is available from several providers online to inexpensively protect you against covered unexpected events. * If you cancel before the deadline, you will only be charged a $25 cancellation Fee, and the balance of your deposit will be returned. After the deadline, you will be billed as noted above unless we can re-rent the room or cottage. (We will make every effort to do so) Note: Longer cancellation periods will be applied to multi-room bookings. Please call for information. Cancellations must be made directly by calling and speaking to an innkeeper or by e-mail with a confirmed response. |

Deposits: Reservations require a deposit of one nights stay or 50% of stay, whichever is greater. Deposits can be made by Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, debit cards, personal checks, traveler's checks or cash. Balance is due upon arrival.

we actually stayed in october 08 but the place was fantastic period, dawn was an excellent hostess and we are trying to save up enough money to go again. best room to stay is the paymasters office loved the tub

My wife and I stayed in the Paymaster's Office Suite at Speedwell Forge Inn on our recent visit to Lancaster County PA. We had seen the inn's website and had already been impressed, but the moment we set foot on the property our expectations were exceeded exponentially. Dawn was a gracious hostess,her aid with our itinerary most helpful, the breakfasts were delicious and well presented, and the property itself was wonderful. Plus Lititz and the surrounding area were beautiful offering a wealth of options to spend our time. The Paymaster's Office was absolutely perfect with the fireplace and the jacuzzi tub. Our stay was to celebrate no particular occasion, but Speedwell Forge Inn is the type of place that will make ANY visit SPECIAL. We definitely hope to return to visit Dawn and the Speedwell Forge Inn again and certainly will reccomend to our friends and relatives.

This was my 10 year old son and my first stay at a B&B and we both loved it! The house is so warm and comfortable and inviting, and Dawn is such a welcoming hostest. The breakfast was delicious (even for my rather picky son!). While we originally stayed in order to be close to the wolves, we would come back just to stay at the house. A wonderful treat!

amazing!Speedwell forge was JUST what we needed.
at the end of a particularly horrible year, my husband and I ran off to speedwell to catch our breath. I was astonished at the place, so beautiful... and the wolves it was a special treat to just sit and watch them.
We can't wait to get back again

Speedwell Forge is by far one of the best kept secrets in the MidAtlantic states. Dawn Darlington takes great pride in her B&B and it shows!!! The wolf sanctuary is an added bonus.

Immaculately clean B&B - the room was amazing with 2 beds, private bath and a wonderful fireplace. Beautiful views of the snow dusted coutryside. So many special touches that made this B&B the best I've ever stayed at. Truly pampered.

The stay was outstanding, the accomodations wonderful, and the attached wolf preserve was fantastic! The only downer was that we had received this as a gift from a friend and, when booked, she had arranged to have chocolates from the local manufacturer waiting in the room for us. We never received those and when our friend inquired about that missing piece was told (somewhat rudely we're told) that the prices had changed and that was no longer included. It seems strange that she 1) was never notified and given the option to "upgrade" if she so desired, 2) had already paid the going price at the time (via a gift certificate) and what she paid for was not delivered, and 3) was treated somewhat rudely when inquiring about it. While our stay was very pleasurable, this B&B owner has now lost 2 possible future customers (our friend and us) as well as those friends we certainly would have recommended to the property in the future but won't now. So, while I wouldn't disway a casual reader here from staying at what is certainly a wonderful property, please do keep in mind that your terms may change at any time with no notice to you based on the innkeeper's whims. If you feel comfortable with that, or feel that you can obtain what you paid for if slighted by going through the BBB or others (as we still might) don't hesitate to stay here. Otherwise, be careful.

Note from Innkeeper:
When a gift certificate is purchased for our B&B, the only way any additional packages can be added to a gift certificate is to speak directly to the innkeeper, who will then add it to the bill. Our receipt shows only payment for the room. We enjoy putting together the flowers and chocolates package and would not have missed an opportunity to give one. . . had it been ordered.
