Welcome to the Shining Dawn Bed and Breakfast Retreat Center; enjoy a casual elegant stay in our magnificent, brick and brownstone Queen Anne B&B near the center of historic Hanover, Pennsylvania. Built in 1902, the home features numerous stained glass windows, in-laid oak floors and paneling, beamed ceilings, carved limestone and marble mantles, and a bright, airy ambiance.

History abounds here. Shining Dawn is located on the road upon which Union and Confederate Cavalries clashed during the Battle of Hanover. The Gettysburg National Military Park is only 15 miles to our west. The first capital of the USA, York, PA is only 20 miles to our east.

Hanover is convenient to the Washington DC beltway (1.5 hours) and the Baltimore beltway (1 hour), making our facility ideal for a weekend retreat from big-city living. Our gracious house and serene garden welcome individuals, couples, families and groups. Shining Dawn provides quiet, cozy, private spaces for individuals or large, open spaces for group events.
