This Gettysburg, PA Bed and Breakfast has 9 guest rooms, each beautifully decorated and featuring a private bath. All lodging accommodations are uniquely done in an upscale country décor with tasteful Civil War accents. Our beautifully landscaped gardens with extensive outdoor seating provide ample opportunity to relax and take in the panoramic Battlefield views.
Guests enjoy the Inn's central air-conditioning during the hotter summer days as well as a uniquely framed fireplace in the common living room area during cold weather seasons. Especially popular is the excellent small library of books on the Battle of Gettysburg and other Civil War subjects.
On selected evenings we feature a live question & answer session with our resident Civil War historian. Charles Kingston is a Gettysburg area native and has been a licensed battlefield guide for over 20 years. Charles brings the Battle of Gettysburg to life with accurate accounts of the historic campaign in which his own Great-Grandfather took part as a Cavalry Officer.
The Doubleday Inn also enjoys the closest proximity to Gettysburg College. Each year we host many potential students and their parents as they explore the school. |

Fantastic b&b with an amazing location on the Gettysburg battlefield...who knew you could actually stay on the field??? It was beautiful inside and out. Views of the battlefield from every window, wonderful period decorations and historical memorabilia inside. Christine and Todd were amazing hosts, full of info on the history of the area, the best restaurants, tours, parking...you name it and they've thought of it! We truly felt like we got the very best out of our limited time here. Make time to see the entire museum at the new visitor center, it is fascinating and takes a few hours. We can't wait to come back!

Incredibly charming Inn with lovely hosts Todd & Christine, who were available when needed and afforded guests total privacy if not. We were there at a time when the Inn was full but we still felt like we had it all to ourselves. Their yard is beautiful, we spent hours watching the many birds at their feeders and gazing at the battlefield. Location is unmatched by any other place to stay in Gettysburg. We will be back!

This is a WONDERFUL b&b! Definitely the best we have tried in Gettysburg over the years. The location is so unique, it is the only place right on the battlefield and you will feel like you have it all to yourself. The innkeepers were SO kind, just truly warm and generous people who you could tell wanted you to have a great stay. Breakfasts were filling and delicious and the coffee was outstanding. We cannot wait to return to this peaceful and quiet haven.

What an amazing place! This was our very first b&b stay and we will never return to hotels again! Todd & Christine are the nicest folks, and their home on the Gettysburg Battlefield is truly an oasis for anyone needing a time-out from the real world. We learned so much history from the two of you, and you are so fun to talk with. We can't believe what an amazing value our stay was as well, the full breakfast kept us going all day and the cookies were a nice treat in the evenings. This house is historic, beautiful and so clean...every comfort you can imagine is ready for you. Best of all it did not feel at all "stuffy", as my husband was afraid it would. Just relaxed and comfortable...you knew Todd and Christine were there if you needed them but they were not at all intrusive...despite a full house we felt like the only ones there as we enjoyed the fireplace at night. We can't wait to return to this Gettysburg Address!

Beautiful and romantic property right on the Gettysburg battlefield. The innkeeper helped my now-fiancee get flowers, chocolates, and champagne to celebrate our engagement. We will never forget this trip or the wonderful hospitality and care we received at the Doubleday Inn. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful country Inn sitauated right on the battlefield at Gettysburg! How lucky we were to find this particular b&b, we looked at several others but ultimately it was their location and their website that hooked us...and this is the kind of place where the actuality is even BETTER than the photos, which is rare. If you are coming to Gettysburg for the history, you simply HAVE to stay at the Doubleday Inn. Clean, beautifully decorated, yummy breakfasts and absolutely the kindest and friendliest innkeepers we've ever met who enjoy sharing their extensive knowledge with you. Can't wait to return!

We loved everything about our trip to the Doubleday Inn! We live within an hour of Gettysburg and were looking for a fun holiday getaway, we found the Scrooged weekend package that the Inn was offering and booked directly online. The package weekend was an OUTSTANDING value and so much fun, getting to tour the basement of the haunted Cashtown Inn gave me goosebumps! The Doubleday Inn is just beautiful, homey, clean and with the friendliest hosts. Everything you could want/need has been provided for you. The atmosphere is friendly, no stuffy innkeepers here like we've experienced at other Gettysburg b&b's. Add that to actually getting to stay ON the battlefield, and I don't think you could find a better place to stay for your Gettysburg vacation.

We just returned from the most wonderful vacation at the Doubleday Inn! To get to stay right on the Gettysburg Battlefield was a dream come true for my husband, a history nut. Mornings and late evenings were simply magic, with fireflies lighting up the sky and beautiful sunrises from the deck...there are simply no words to describe the views. The Inn is so beautiful, and has the most warm and caring innkeepers...Christine & Todd have done so much work to ensure that you are taken care of from the moment you arrive. They had made our dinner reservations as well as an appointment with a battlefield guide. The trip was truly care free. Having toured the rest of the town and surrounding areas, seeing the other inns we had considered, we felt so lucky to have chosen this perfect spot...no traffic noise to speak of and especially the quiet central air conditioning made our entire 3 night stay very relaxing. We would recommend this Inn to anyone in a heartbeat!

This is simply a wonderful B&B, right on the battlefield! We and several other couples stayed for a Murder Mystery weekend and had the best time! The Inn, the location, the food, the hosts...all far exceeded our expectations. We cannot wait to return!
