In rural North Sewickley Township, 1/4 mile off PA Route 65 in northern Beaver County, this 92-acre farm takes you away from the hectic world and into the enjoyment of a cozy 1860s farmhouse for rest and relaxation, just 2 miles south of Ellwood City.
The family farm is 92 acres, and inhabited by alpacas, a mini-horse with cart, ostriches, sheep, beef cattle and chickens, not to mention dogs and cats and the ducks and geese which return every year to live on the three ponds. The ponds are spring fed, well stocked, and accommodate Bass and Blue Gill for excellent fishing. Fun for the kids to dig worms and throw a line in! Since we seasonally incubate and hatch ostrich eggs (March - September), and grow out our chicks to full size, we usually have many ostriches for your viewing.
The farmhouse where guests stay, is a big old fashioned home almost 150 years old, but comes with many modern updates and additions, like the big outdoor deck which overlooks the farm. The house has city water, natural gas and cable TV, and no smoking.
There are three bedrooms on the second floor where guests stay. The rooms have that old fashioned feel to them, each with a wood frame bed (2 queens & 1 full), and checkered quilt covering them. It's quaint and quiet -- no TV or phones upstairs.
Located in the midst of Beaver Valley industry and business, yet secluded for peace and quiet. There are nearby parks, shopping outlets, and sight seeing attractions. The farm is less than one hour from downtown Pittsburgh, 20 minutes from PA Turnpike Exit #13.
