Welcome to the Bechtel Victorian Mansion Bed and Breakfast in East Berlin, PA. Located in eastern Adams County, the Inn is just 15 minutes from historic York and Gettysburg, and just 20 minutes from the Maryland border.

A walk down the main thoroughfare of East Berlin, Pennsylvania is a step back in time. The mixture of homes in this National Historic District includes log homes, Federal style, colonial and Victorian homes, including the Bechtel Victorian Mansion Bed and Breakfast.

The Inn is central to many historic attractions in York and Gettysburg, including museums and the Gettysburg National Military Park. Just minutes away are several golf courses, over 250 antique shops, fine dining, wineries, bike trails, outlet shopping, and unique country stores. East Berlin is only 1 ½ hours from Baltimore and Washington, DC, and one hour from Lancaster and Hershey.

Built in 1897, the Bechtel Victorian Mansion Bed and Breakfast is a veritable museum of Victorian style and architecture. It is still in the process of a painstaking and loving restoration by its current owners. The Inn features 9 guestrooms, two of which are two-room suites. Each room is individually decorated with period antiques in a country Victorian style. Many rooms feature period wall coverings, while others are adorned with delicate stenciling. Original brass chandeliers, large pocket doors, etched-glass windows, working transoms, and built-in cupboards and wardrobes are just a few of the elements of Victorian style that take our guests breath away.

All of the guestrooms have a private bathroom and air conditioning. Some rooms have a private balcony. Guests are treated to tea and homemade sweets upon arrival. Beds are turned down in the evening while guests are out for dinner. Breakfast each morning consists of coffee or tea, juice, fresh fruit or fruit cobbler, homemade bread, muffins, or coffee cake, and a hot specialty, which may be a quiche, waffles, French toast, pancakes, just to name a few. Guests may relax on the large front porch or stroll through town and experience the history of the community.

Check-in is between 3:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. No check-ins allowed after 9:00 p.m. unless prior arrangements have been made, a $25 late arrival fee will be charged.
Check Out Policy:
Check out is 11:00 a.m. Late checkouts will be assessed $25 per hour.
Cancellation Policy:
10 day cancellation. If cancellation within 10 days of arrival date, a one-night charge will be incurred unless the room can be rebooked. If cancellation within 24 hours of arrival date, full charges will incur unless room can be rebooked. For Gettysburg Reenactment weekend, 30 day cancellation applies, deposit nonrefundable.
