Beautiful Scenery Native Americans settled throughout the Klamath region, including the land called Crystalwood for many hundreds of years before the arrival of Europeans. The marshes and forests provided all the necessary raw materials for food, clothing and shelter, and the ancient ways of working with the tule are being revived today by Ivan Jackson and others who are learning the old ways from the elders.

Nome has wonderful sunrises overlooking Crystal Spring and the Upper Klamath Wildlife Refuge. Nome is the end of the trail for the Iditarod sled dog race, and all finishers passing under the burled arch on Front Street have earned their finisher's belt buckle for a job well done.
