The Garver House Bed and Breakfast is a historic inn, located in Strasburg, Ohio. This bed and breakfast will take you back in time to a more relaxed, charming era, where hospitality and friendiness were second nature. The Garver House boasts beautiful wood trim, four fireplaces, one in a guest bedroom. The historic home features original inlaid hardwood floors and seven stained and leaded glass windows.
During your stay, be sure to check out the Lynn Drive-In Theatre, where one may choose from one of two movies to watch featured on outdoor movie screens. Strasburg is known as the “Gateway to Amish Country,” and is very close to many Amish attractions. Fort Laurens is also a popular attraction, as it is Ohio’s only American Revolution fort. While here, guests may also enjoy golfing, antiquing, shopping, or if you are a wine enthusiast, visit Perennial Vineyards or Brietenbach winery, both only a short drive away.
The Garver House Bed and Breakfast has three guest rooms, all with wireless Internet access, HDTVs with DVD players, and private bathrooms. Evening snacks are provided as well as full, delectable country breakfasts every morning for each guest. Your hosts want to make sure each guest feels welcome, comfortable, and at home at all points in time, and will go out of their way to do so. Enjoy your stay at The Garver House Bed and Breakfast, as you take a step back into time when entering the front doors.

My husband and I stayed at the Garver House with two other couples. It was a great end week (Thurs-Sat) getaway. Al & Natalie were fantastic hosts. The rooms were beautifully decorated. The beds were like sleeping on a cloud. Our room had a fireplace which just added to the ambiance of our room. The breakfast was outstanding every morning. It makes my mouth water just thinking about them. All of us plan and staying there again.

The Garver House is a wonderfully restored home with lots of thoughtful decorative touches throughout it. The stained glass windows are surely works of art. My bedroom was spacious, well appointed and the bed was great to sleep in, especially as first nights away from home in strange places tend to be difficult for me. The bathroom was great with a shower and a tub. In addition to the TV, there is also a DVD with an assortment of movies to choose from.
Food was outstanding. My first evening there was a marvelous homemade fruit pastry with the flakiest crust possible along with ample beverages to choose from. In the morning I feasted on an assortment of chilled juices, a fresh fruit hot coompote and dusted pumpking waffles with bacon. That evening homemade spiced cookies provided the evening snack, again with ample beverages to choose from. My second breakfast again had a great selection of chillded juices, a different spiced hot fruit compote and surprisingly baked oatmeal with thick warm cream to slather all over it. I never knew baked oatmeal could be so good.
The entire family pitched in with hospitality as son Justin provided me with transport to my business appointment. I spent some wonderful time in the well lighted sunroom reading the newspaper. There was soothing soft music to listen to in the living room, dining room and sunroom. There is also a small corner gift area where, since I am not a shopper, I was able to pick up an assortment of botanical soaps suitable for Christmas stocking stuffers. Al told me that there was a coupon from one of the restaurants in my room's guest amenities binder which I used to have a great meal in a restaurant just a short stroll from the inn. After breakfast my second morning and prior to leaving, I took a short stroll and found in the back of the house, a great well cared for cemetery with some graves dating back to the early 1800s. If you arrive weary and think a walk might help you relax, I urge you to visit this area. The cemetery traces its military history back to the war of 1812.
I want to thank the Clines for their warm welcome, their true genuine hospitality. Natalie gave me a huge hug as I was leaving which made me feel warm and good all over. I came as a stranger but I left feeling the very positive life affirming joy of having been with first class innkeepers giving their best to their guests. I wish the entire family much success; they deserve great patronage and I hope that my review willl persuade those considering the Garver House to follow through and make a reservation. You will not be sorry to have done so!

My wife and I seldom return to a B&B, as we prefer to enjoy the many new and delightful experiences that are available around the country. At the same time, when I am on business and I find one that I like I don't hesitate to return as often as I am in the area. Thus the Garver House is by far one that I will always enjoy revisiting and hopefully one day take pleasure in with my wife.
Al and Natalie the owners/hosts are delightful. Natalie serves up breakfasts that would make most high end restaurants envious, and the cookies and pies in the evenings want to make you get back early. The home and rooms are decorated with just the right taste and decor. A real value, definitely worth frequenting or enjoying for the first time.

I just returned from my 3 night stay at The Garver House. My beautiful accomodations where in the Zoar Village Room. The room has a warm and inviting ambiance and most importantly it was very comfortable and impeccably clean . The morning breakfast was homemade and delicious and was always the perfect start to my day. What a wonderful, relaxing and delicious getaway. Thank you to the innkeepers Al and Natalie Kline for a wonderful stay. Highly Recommend.
