Situated on 12 beautiful acres of farmland just outside the historic and picturesque Village of Granville, Orchard House Bed and Breakfast blends timeless farm style with the modern comforts of today. Our decor features antiques and artwork from throughout the world, including a handcrafted dining room table carved from reclaimed wood from Ohio barns. Our gourmet breakfasts are locally sourced and highlight products from central Ohio farms and businesses. Whether you decide to walk the grounds, feeding llamas and collecting chicken eggs, or explore the local downtown or countryside, Orchard House is prepared to make your stay as relaxing as possible.
Originally built in the 1850’s, Orchard House Bed and Breakfast is located on 12 acres in Granville, Ohio and has been home to local prominent members of the Granville community. In the 1950s, it was the first licensed home for alcoholics in Ohio, The Daley House. Saved from demolition in 1969, the house was restored as a family home. The former Granville Manor Bed and Breakfast operated on the site in the 1990’s. After passing between several owners over the last decade, Orchard House is again a bed and breakfast, offering an atmosphere cognizant of its long history with all the modern comforts expected of superior lodging.
Orchard House’s farm offer guests the opportunity to interact with our resident animals, including llamas, sheep, and numerous poultry that roam freely from pasture to pasture. We offer a special package that allows for guests to lend a helping hand on the farm, experiencing all aspects of animal care. White-tailed deer and other wildlife indigenous to Ohio continue to walk the land, from the Christmas Tree Forest to our orchard. Living in harmony with our natural surroundings, as the sun sets, sip a glass of wine and enjoy the beauty that unfolds before your eyes.
Whether to escape the city for a weekend in the country or to visit or spend time with someone you love, Andrew and Don welcome you to our farm to enjoy some country relaxation in sophisticated style.
Orchard House celebrates the history of the time it was built through its guest rooms. The Walden Room honors the rich literary accomplishments of the New England transcendental authors, including Ralph Waldo Emerson and Henry David Thoreau, and includes a queen sized bed and detached private bath. Looking abroad, the Barbizon Room respects the artists of Europe, and their invaluable contributions to combined knowledge of painting and the evolution of technique. This room features a king size bed and an attached bath. Inspired by the great American poet, the light-filled Whitman room includes a king-sized bed and an attached private bath and private access to an outdoor elevated sitting area.

This B&B was a great surprise. We loved everything about it. The many animals added an inteesting twist that we have never had at any other B&B. Don and Andrew were the best. Give it a try if you are in the area.

It’s been a couple of weeks since I stayed at the Orchard House in Granville, Ohio, and each morning I wake hoping to still be tucked away at the quaint inn. If you are looking for a weekend getaway where you have the opportunity to meet others but don’t feel the pressure of having to engage or be smothered – Orchard House is may be the perfect place for you. The innkeepers, Andrew and Don, have struck the right balance of being welcoming and pleasantly visible and invisible. My stay began with an informative tour of the inn, its grounds and history, explanation of amenities and helpful tips.
I had the pleasure of staying in the spacious Whitman Room which is perfect for a couple alone or traveling with small children. The separate reading area and access to outside sitting area overlooking the farm was a respite for the busy city life I so desperately needed to escape. I found this spot the perfect post-breakfast escape to sneak in a few chapters of the latest book I was reading and great perch to catch the 20+ animals that call the Orchard House home.
As I think back on my trip stay now, my mind is flooded by so many pleasant memories. Having slipped a weeklong vacation to Mexico and weekend to New York since traveling to the Orchard House, this is a huge feat. Each night, I melted into the heavenly bedding and ample supply of pillows covering the room’s queen-sized bed, and then I found myself lingering as long as I could the next morning only being lured out by the delectable aromas that permeated my room from the kitchen. Besides my heavenly bed, breakfast was served according to my schedule, and portions were plentiful including a blend of fresh breads, fruit, a protein as eggs or meat, juice and an unlimited supply of coffee. When I did get a hungry for an afternoon snack, I only needed to travel to the family room to grab a homemade cookie, fresh fruit or chips with a beverage of choice. Besides Andrew’s preparation of the bacon which is by far the best I’ve ever had, the evening wine and cheese hour was certainly a highlight that I planned my day around. It was a lovely opportunity to meet other guests, try different wines and sample local cheeses and learn more about the community.
The inn itself is located a quick five-10 minute drive from the bucolic Granville which features a lovely downtown area peppered with shops and restaurants and a beautiful trail that wraps around town filled with walkers, runners and bikers.
My weekend ended with me feeling refreshed and grateful for discovering this gem – a rare combination of quality of service, charming accommodations and tasty delights for a great deal. If you are looking for a place to escape and enjoy the beauty of the farm setting, Orchard House should top the list –- it certainly is mine.

This was our first stay at a B&B, and we were delighted with the experience! We felt at home the minute we walked in the door, and the entire time we were there. The home is beautifully decorated, and located in an out-of-the-way location with lovely views from every window. It was so quiet and peaceful. Our room was fantastic! It was spacious and comfortable with a sitting area, a nicely updated sparkling bath and eveen a balcony to relax on. The king size bed was luxuriously appointed and very comfortable. We enjoyed the delicious breakfast with fresh ingredients... Mmmm good!! We are already planning future visits to Orchard House and we plan to invite other family members to meet us there too!! It's too good to keep to ourselves!!

Orchard House is a wonderful retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The rooms were charming, clean, and tastefully decorated. I tend to avoid B&B stays because I find that most have overwhelming Victorian décor…much too busy for my tastes, and Orchard House was just what the décor doctor ordered. I chose the Whitman room for my stay, which I found to be incredibly comfortable. The bed wrapped it’s arms around me like a cloud. The linens were soft yet crisp. The bathroom was Immaculately clean and modern, complete with Gilchrist and Soames products.
Interesting conversation was at the top of the order during wine and cheese hour with the wonderful proprietors, Don and Andrew. And talk about a fabulous breakfast? Try hot corn cakes served with hot pure maple syrup, perfectly done brown sugar bacon, a heaping bowl of fresh strawberries, cold fresh orange juice and hot coffee. The food is heavy on natural local products and the quality shows. Andrew also makes some killer jams in his kitchen, and I managed to take away a jar of what is sure to be a blue ribbon winner at the Ohio State Fair this year…Carrot Cake Jam. My elderly mother has managed to down the whole jar…she thinks it is just this side of heaven!
My only regret was that I had to check out early when a possible appointment in Columbus became a reality and I had to quickly pack and be on my way. You can be assured that I will be visiting Don and Andrew at Orchard House again.

Orchard House was above and beyond our expectations. The atmosphere was so laid back that I felt I could truly relax (don't know when the last time I did that was!); the animals were great to see, and Andrew's breakfasts were phenomenal. Everything about our stay was wonderful, and we can't wait to return.
