The French chateau style house has a distinctive mansard roof, curved glass in the bay windows, iron cresting on the roof top, and seven stained glass windows in the projecting centre tower. Inside there are 24 rooms and five open fire places. The cost of building the house in 1894 was $29,000 - roughly 2 million by modern standards.

Renovations In 2005

The Dunhams purchased the Inn in February 2005, and renovations began that summer. Great care was taken to mantain the original splendor of the 1894 home.

For the more adventurous, take a hike to Cape Split, located a half hour drive from the Inn. This 4 hour hike is well worth it!

Windsor is centrally located to just about anywhere in Nova Scotia. Less then an hour away, at Burntcoat Head, you can experience the worlds higest recorded tides! About 1.5 hours away in Maitland you can actually ride the tidal bore for an excelirating adventure ride!

This beautiful suite is situated on the third floor in the front tower. It has a luxury queen size bed, ensuite bathroom with large air jet tub and shower, fireplace and cozy sittng area with a fridge and coffee maker.

Cunard Room

This romantic room has a four poster queen size bed with luxury linens. The ensuite bathroom has a original clawfoot tub and shower. The view overlooks the gardens on the property.

Rufus Curry Room

This large room was once the sleeping quarters of the master of the house, Rufus Curry. It has two pillowtop double beds, and an ensuite bathroom with clawfoot tub and shower. This room is large enough to set up a cot as well if needed

Windsor Room

This sunny and bright room features hand painted flowers and rasied stucco work done in the early 1900's. You will feel right at home in the cozy queen bed with pillow top matress and luxury linens. The ensuite bathroom has a stand up shower only.

Sam Slick Room

Our most original room features a 1800's double bed and dresser. The private bathroom for this room is located just outside the room, and has a 6 foot clawfoot tub and shower. The walls are adorned with an original hand painted boarder done in 1895 by a local artist, Charles Lyons.
