Relax at The Moss House. We offer central air and heat. Our wide veranda offers rockers, table and chairs and a swing for resting, reading and kicking back, looking over the garden. There is also a wonderful back porch with white wicker seating for your use, enjoy the fresh ground Moss House Blend coffee in the morning out here or sit out in the evening before you head out to dinner.

The Moss House Veranda
Located one block from the Pamlico River and steeped in family history, this beautiful 1902 Victorian home provides gracious accommodations in the heart of historic downtown Washington.

There is off street parking for our guests off 2nd Street behind The Moss House for our guests convenience.

The Anchorage- A King Bedroom
The Anchorage is a large king room with a private updated and expanded Spa bath with a wonderful tiled shower and cozy robes. This room offers one of the six original carved wooden mantles surrounding colorfully tiled hearths, and the fireplaces, though no longer functional, recall the dedication to craftsmanship that was common when the house was built a century ago. You'll find custom soaps, shampoo and other amenities in our private baths plus extra pillows and ample lighting along with Cable TV.

Pamlico River Room- A King Bedroom
The Pamlico River Room, our deluxe King bedroom with master bath. This is our honeymoon suite for newlyweds and weekend getaways for anyone you loves a little pampering. The master bath has a tub/shower and a double sink. Cuddle up in our cozy robes after a bath with our Herbal bath grains. This getaway room can also combine with the Tar River Room to make a large family suite.

The Estuary- A Queen Bedroom
This popular comfortable Queen room, offers a view of the old Methodist Church out the back window. The original Heart Pine floors are though out the house and add to the warm, comfortable feeling that surrounds The Moss House. Comforts like extra pillows, allergen free bedding and access to bottled water and sodas will add to your relaxing visit. The Estuary offers a desk as well as Cable TV and wireless internet.

The Tar River Room- A Queen Bedroom
This restful queen room with private bath is a cozy retreat for the weary traveler. This room can also connect with the Pamlico River Room to form The Bridge Suite for families.While The Moss House provides a wonderful escape from day-to-day concerns, we also provide cable TV's,wireless internet, as well as fax and copy machine for guests who need to stay in touch with the outside world.

We offer a full breakfast in our ding room each morning. Our delicious Moss House Blend coffee, roasted for us at Cackalacky Coffee Roasters, and tea are available on the buffet early for our early risers! Fresh fruit, home baked goods and a delicious entree await you each morning.
