Overlooking historic Valle Crucis in the North Carolina High Country, minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway, Boone and Blowing Rock, our new log Bed and Breakfast mountain retreat is built from the ground up with you in mind. A quiet and secluded setting, Lazy Bear Lodge Bed and Breakfast is located on a paved road, 1 ½ miles from Mast General Store.

The mountain lodge is a 2-story log bed and breakfast with large comfortable porches, sweeping views and plenty of privacy. The relaxing front porch overlooks a private garden area and is just a few feet from convenient parking. From the 2 ½ story living room, a wide deck loaded with Adirondack furniture overlooks beautiful mountains and valleys.

We have 5 private guest bedrooms, each with private bath and a fantastic view. Each bedroom is unique: roomy and furnished with hand-picked antiques or handmade furniture, comfortable seating, and gas-fired fireplaces or stoves.

Our restaurant (not yet open to the public) is available to our overnight guests for dinner or picnic lunches. Nightly selections are posted each morning and advance reservations are required. Join us for a full breakfast selection any time between 7:30 and 9:00, and choose to sit by a warming fire, or enjoy the fresh air on our large deck which overlooks Valle Crucis.

Enjoy the numerous nearby attractions and activities, such as: Tweetsie Railroad, the Appalachian State University, Grandfather Mountain, the Pisgah National Forest, Bristol Motor Speedway, Linville Falls and Linville Caverns.

We are dedicated to make your stay relaxing and memorable. We will gladly make reservations in your name for local events and activities, or arrange for special services in your room, including flowers, wines, gifts, or in-room massage.

Check In Policy:
Check-in time is between 2:00 PM and 6:00 PM
Check Out Policy:
Checkout is before 11:00 AM If you need a different check-in or check-out time, we will do our best to accommodate you. Please give us sufficient advance notification.
Cancellation Policy:
If you need to cancel, a total refund will be paid as long as you cancel 14 days prior to your planned day of arrival. Notification less than 14 days in advance requires us to retain 20% of the total room cost. Cancellation within 24 hours of the planned arrival requires us to retain the entire deposit. At any time, if a special service has been requested, those costs may not been refunded.
Deposit Policy:
We ask for a deposit of 50% of the total room cost at the time you place your reservation. If you are paying by check, we will gladly hold your reservation for 10 days.
No Pets Allowed
If you are traveling with your pet, we will gladly provide local kennel references for pet lodging, and make a reservation in your name. NOTE: if you are visually impaired and have a guide dog companion, please contact us for special arrangements.
