We had a wonderful experience at Fairway Oaks. The Inn is beautiful with lovely grounds. The hosts Bernie and Joyce couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. They were also very understanding when we had to cancel the last two days of our planned due to a family emergency. Very good breakfasts and yummy desserts always available in the parlor. We have stayed in B&B's all over the country and this one is top notch.

The BEST!!! What a delightful visit. Bernie & Joyce are wonderful people and we waaay beyond the call of duty. (Bernie de-iced our car) and (Joyce made the best chocolate cake known to man). Food was delicious and plentiful. The rooms were immaculate and Joyce's decorating talent shined throughout. If I say too many nice things we're a fraid we won't get a room when our June visit comes along. We had one of the best times ever. Thanks Bernie and Joyce.

A wonderfull place. Joyce and Bernie are very welcoming and helpfull. Their graciousness and charm is exceeded only by the Inn itself and Bernie's breakfasts. Large comfy rooms with excellent gathering room and porches to spend a few idle hours. One of my favorite places in the country to stay.

We simply can not say enough good things about our stay at the Fairway Inn. Our reason to visit was a sad one, a friend's funeral, but the hosts Bernie and Joyce could not have been more accomadating. Our room was large, very clean and inviting. The breakfast was way above our expectations and sitting outside on their beautiful porch on such well manicured grounds gave us such a sense of relaxation.

Joyce and Bernie have a lovely home in a country club community 5 minutes out of the hustle and bustle of Morganton. It is a wonderful home away from home, ideal for weary-worn travelers. Their attention to detail and expertise in the kitchen is impressive from a view out on the golf course green, to fresh baked goodies in the "parlor" to a drink-stocked refrigerator, to immaculate rooms with tasteful decor. I'm a well traveled US Travel Agent with 32 years of experience and familiarization, and this is the loveliest kind of bed and breakfast facility. The rooms are spacious and quietly tucked upstairs. There is a luxurious guest lounge and dining area, as well as a basement rec room with a pool table. Additionally, there is access to a nice pool belonging to the country club. The hosts seem to really enjoy having and serving their guests and they are available, helpful and conversational, while giving an appropriate balance of space. Our room (#4) had a luxuriously comfortable bed and many nice touches, including welcoming cookies, a padded rocker and specialty bathroom products with their own label. Allow time in your schedule to linger over the yummy breakfast (Joyce even shared a couple of recipes) and to sit a spell on their wrap around porch with rockers and swing. I did my research and this is Morganton's finest landing spot and these are the kind of folks you want to hug when you say goodbye! (Thanks for your gracious southern kindness, Joyce and Bernie!)

We recently stayed at this B&B while attending a wedding, and the best part of the trip was by far where we were staying. The Inn had wonderful wrap around porches with porch swings and rocking chairs. The yard was beautiful and the Gardenias were in full bloom. The innkeepers were very nice and had fresh baked goods and cold drinks on hand, at all times. Breakfast was great with multiple filling and delicious courses (both hot and cold), every morning. The room was spacious and comfortable. Best of all, we had our two year old son in tow, and the innkeepers were so sweet to him. They did not even mind that we had to check in late, following a rehearsal dinner. I would definitely recommend this B&B to others. Even though it was only 1.5 hours from our home, I would consider vacationing here again without a wedding to attend. Some of our friends were staying at local chain hotels and were paying pretty comparable nightly rates. We felt bad for them.

Fairway Oaks is clean and very reasonably priced. It is located in the beautiful mountains of North Carolina, in the charming town of Morganton. Our stay was relaxing, and the hosts made us feel at home. The breakfast was wonderful, and included more health-conscious options than are normally available.
