Located 45 minutes from the Raleigh-Durham airport and less than 2 miles from interstate 85, The Lamplight Inn resides on a 150 year old tobacco farm in Henderson, NC. Let us beckon you with the soft glow of the many chimney lamps used to light this restored farm. Relax on the wraparound porch or stroll the grounds. Relax in a hammock, porch swing, on the barn porch or the corn crib screened gazebo.
A Gourmet Breakfast will be served in the classic style daily in the main dining room. Guests may prefer dining on the wide verandah. Picnic Baskets are available by advance order and courtesy snacks and beverages 24/7 for your convenience. Special diet requests are welcome, including vegan and gluten free alternatives.
A short drive will bring you to the Kerr Lake State Recreation Area to enjoy sailing, fishing, water skiing and hiking. This, 50,000-acre, man-made, lake is a haven for water sports enthusiasts and landlubbers alike. |

It was a wonderful retreat, and I highly recommend it. The room was spacious, charming, and clean. The location is perfect if you want to visit Kerr Lake or Lake Gaston. Shirley, the hostess, is very warm and friendly.

Amazing weekend! I'll be honest, when my wife coaxed me into going to a B&B I was less than excited. However, when I stepped foot on the property of the Lamplight, it took me back to when I grew up in the country. The restored tobacco barn and surrounding fields of soybean and tobacco were amazing. The Inn itself is unbelievably restored; we stayed in the Heavenly Haven. The claw footed tub was very spacious, and the shower had so much room we could've fit 4 (but didn't ;-). We brought our bikes along and took a nice ride around Henderson and the rest of the county. 2 miles down the road we found a great campground that let us swim in Lake Kerr. The hospitality was second-to-none... I felt like a kid in my grandma's kitchen with all the delicious foods and intricate place settings. We had such a great time, I'm looking forward to coming back soon!
