From the moment you drive up the long driveway to this warm and welcoming retreat, you feel a sense of stress drop from your shoulders. Carol is very heartwarming, and reassuring as she prepares to exceed your expectations. The Rose room is delightful, warm, with beautiful view of the garden area. My room was well appointed and showed with details in design and personal comfort. I love a heavy duvet cover to keep me feeling warm and cozy in this generous room. I felt easily at ease. Carol had plenty of guidance on the local area provided in advance as well as directions to wonderful restaurants in the area. She is exceptionally knowledgeable on the area, history of the home, and local happenings. This is a beautiful early 1900s home to share with family reunions, gathering of friends, girls weekend out, and backyard weddings and formal teas. If you have an idea, Carol and Steve are willing to accomodate to meet your needs. I am honored to leave this review in hopes of returning soon once again. I wish them continued success in serving their community and representing the best of all Durham has to offer it's guests.
