Tucked in the Blue Ridge Mountains on a river bend sits this elegant rustic lodge, The River Lodge Bed & Breakfast in Cullowhee, NC. 100 year-old hand hewn logs taken from old barns and cabins in the Smoky Mountain region were used to build this unique structure. The inn sits on 5 acres of land and with over 600 feet of river frontage, you can enjoy fishing, or take a quiet stroll around our pastoral valley.
A massive stone fireplace stands boldly in the Greatroom. Its hearth beckons you to sit and stare into the glowing light of a beautiful fire that dances with your thoughts.
Comfortably arranged with furnishings and decorated with antiques, collectables and American Indian Motif, this lodge affords you the luxury of appreciating art and nature at its best. Included in your accommodations is a full country breakfast served in the dining room or out on our breakfast patio when weather permitting. A special touch of flavor's "all our own" will awaken your taste buds as you plan your days adventure.
The Innkeepers have paid much attention to detail in all the guest rooms. Mountain made log beds. Uniquely decorated with accessories to compliment the rooms' decor, a name for each room has been chosen to describe its content.
The private baths also lend much character to the feeling created. Such as, clawfoot bath tubs with brass fixtures, along with separate showers to hasten the venture. Pedestal sinks that take you back in time suggest old world charm with new world convenience. Scented soaps, plush towels and handmade twig mirrors fill the rooms to make your bathing experience a delightful one. Our Hideaway Suite is a favorite with guests. A private entrance leads you into a cozy living room with a wood burning stone fireplace. Your very own whirlpool for two. A spiral staircase takes you up to a bedroom loft and full bath with tub/shower. A unique queen size mountain made silver maple and willow bed. Cathedral beamed ceiling. Perfect for that "Special Occasion." While visiting our inn you will be able to enjoy a true "Smoky Mountain" experience. |
