We had booked a suite. When we arrived, we were told that our suite had heating issues and we were moved to a room. When my husband wanted to bring in our cooler with drinks and food, we were told they were not allowed. So we did have a frig on the second floor, where we stored our food (we were on the third floor). We were also told that no eating or drinking was allowed in the rooms, to please have our food and drinks in the kitchen (again on the second floor). We had planned a romantic, quiet afternoon which did not include drinking a glass of wine in a kitchen. The place was very clean, however and the husband was accomodating with an earlier breakfast (website said 8:30)but we were told at check in that breakfast was 9:30 (too late for us as we had to leave by 9:00 a.m.). I was disappointed in our "room" and really would not recommend or stay here again. Too many rules. I had to ask for a refund for the difference between a room and a suite. I suppose they may have had problems in the past but we aren't children either but did feel we were treated that way.

I'm sorry you felt that way. It's tough being the only source of lodging in both a college town (Rowan) and with a nearby concert facility (Appel Farm). We did have a mechanical issue which unfortunately you can't avoid. Knowing the purpose of your visit (a concert) and seeing the cooler coming in the door threw up a red flag. FYI, many B&B's do not allow coolers and our facility (by our choice and design) is not the kind of place that is condusive to coolers and what usually follows. We're sorry that you and your husband were judged by previous experiences. JS
