This B & B is owned and operated by wonderfully friendly and sophisticated hosts. My husband and I instantly felt like more than mere paying guests. I never liked scones until I had host Nancy Smith's luscious homemade ones. She even gave me the recipe. Her egg dishes are lovely and different. The most excellent breakfasts even included an excellent fruit course with ripe tasty fruits which is always a challenge in New England in the winter. The house is old and beautifully and carefully preserved by the Smith's. Look for the 18" wide floorboards in the upstairs hall. The showers are hot, plentiful and powerful, sheets are so fine you feel like you'll slip right off them and the towels are soft, fluffy and super absorbent. Al and Nancy know all about the area and give excellent suggestions for where to go, what to do, where to eat as well as accurate directions. Shaker Hill is a quiet spot near many attractions. We will come again...and again...and again...
