Located between Elmira and Corning in the Finger Lakes region the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon is an easy drive from here and is great for horseback riding, hiking and whitewater rafting. Elmira is the home of the National Soaring Museum and the Wings of Eagle Discovery Center. It is also the final resting place of Mark Twain and where he actually wrote many of his books. The Elmira College Campus is about 5 minutes away by car, the Corning Museum of Glass and Rockwell Museum are both down the road and Elmira-Corning Airport is only 30 minutes away.
