The Canal Park Inn shares its Tribeca landmark building with the Canal Park Playhouse, Downtown’s newest venue for theater and cabaret. Each morning beginning at 8 AM guests enjoy a complimentary breakfast in The Playhouse Front Room. We are in easy walking distance of Greenwich Village, Soho and The East Village. Our neighborhood both cherishes the history of old New York and is an incubator for the newest architecture (and theater) in The Big Apple. All four of our guest rooms are furnished with 19th century antiques and handmade, classically designed contemporary furniture. All rooms have claw foot tubs with period shower fixtures, triple glazed windows, A/C and soundproofed walls. Nestled on the border of Soho and Tribeca, our landmarked 1826 Canal House is ideally situated for experiencing the best New York has to offer—and still having a quiet place to call home at the end of the day. Surrounded by 5-star restaurants and a block away from the landscaped parks, open grass, tennis courts, and stunning sunsets at the Hudson River Park , we strike a perfect balance between nature and culture.
Tribeca North is, architecturally, the most diverse and dynamic section of greater Tribeca. Within a block of the Inn are new buildings designed by famed architects Philip Johnson and Winka Dubbeldam, the Zinc Building and the 461 Washington Project- a thermally heated “green” condominium building. Like an adolescent with braces on their teeth, this burgeoning district is awash with scaffolding.
The Osborne’s have owned 508 Canal Street since 1980. In this building, they raised their daughter, providing the building with family history built into the very walls. (Behind a renovation wall on the top floor of the building is hidden a mural painted by children at a particularly creative third birthday party.) The beds and several end tables in the Inn were built by Kipp Osborne, coming from the days he and his wife, Margot, were furniture makers in Soho and Tribeca. |

Cancellation Policy: |
For cancellations please call 917-593-5933 to receive a cancellation code from one of our staff members. Cancellations require a minimum of 72 hours notice for a half refund (minus credit card fees). A full refund (minus credit card fees) will be given if cancellations are made at least 14 days prior to check-in. If no cancellation call is made your credit card will be charged the full amount up to $600. |
