Words are not even adequate enough to describe how much we enjoyed staying here. Our group was comprised of 20 people and they were able to accommodate each and every one of us. The staff was exceptional and so friendly and helpful. When I was trying to find out which subways and buses to take, they went out of their way to make sure we were going in the right direction. The place itself is so spotless and neat. You can tell that they want to make sure everyone has an enjoyable experience.
The best thing about this hotel is its convenience. It's located very close to all of the major subways, so it's easy to go around. Furthermore, the breakfast they had in the morning was delicious! Ty even ordered extra muffins so that everyone in my group would have enough to eat. I love love love Harlem Bed and Breakfast and cannot imagine going anywhere else if I ever go back to New York. Everything was wonderful and I cannot thank them enough for the amazing experience.

It is the third time we stayed at Harlem Bed and Breakfast - and very likely not the last one! It has become our "home away from home" in NY. Scott and Maxine are always very welcoming and friendly, the rooms are large and beautifully decorated, having a small kitchen in each of them is handy when you're tired of eating out. And the pastries for breakfast are just great ! Definitely a great place to stay. Last thing - to us the neighborhood looks safe, there's no problem walking back home at night from the subway.

Scott and Maxcine were fabulous hosts. The breakfasts were great-the pastries not to be missed. We were there for the marathon and Scott even came out to watch my husband run! Neighborhood is evolving but everyone we met was friendly. Don't miss the Lenox Lounge-great food and music. Hoping to do New York for Christmas-we'll definetly stay with Scott and Maxcine again.

Overall I rate this stay as outstanding. Its not for everybody, but if you really want a true Harlem neighborhood experience (as honestly advertised on the B and B website), this is the place for you, including some of the small problems (most resolved, one not so well, i.e.troubling key entry)you find in most renovated neighborhoods like this throughout the U.S. Any problems initially were more than made up for with the very friendly inn-keepers that put 100% effort in accommodating practically me and my wife's every need, including a sumptuous birthday cake that we did not order . If you are more independent as I was (because of summers spent in Harlem for many years), they respected that wish as well, yet were always ready and willing to provide assistance whenever needed. My wife and I stayed at one of the satellite locations in Harlem, and were very well pleased. My wife continues to rave about this being the best birthday she has ever had. That's enough for me and we both know our accommodations at the Harlem Bed and Breakfast played a central role in her overall trip evaluation. Again, if you want a true neighborhood experience in your trip to New York City, you need to give this place a try. I would return in a heartbeat, and quite frankly plan to do so.

My family's stay at the Harlem B&B was great. Scott and Maxcine were extremely accomdating to us - we arrived later than expected, but they were there to greet us when we arrived and were very helpful in making us feel welcome and comfortable. The accomodations were great - clean, comfortable, quiet, and beautifully decorated. We had the room that slept three and it was very spacious, lots of privacy, and everything you would need was available - from frying pan to toothpaste - to feel at home. This is the best deal in town - very convenient to the sites in Harlem, close to the public transportation, at such a reasonable price. We tend to stay in hotels when travelling but this was like staying with friends - much more relaxed and flexible. We plan to stay at the Harlem B&B for all our future visits to NYC. Thank you, Scott and Maxcine, for your wonderful hospitality! - Karen & family

My girlfriend and I visit New York frequently but never before had we chosen to stay at a B&B. Luckily this was our first choice and most likely the last we'll make. Our experience was great and the innkeepers even better. We felt entirely at home and Harlem felt like home for the few days we were there. Great neighborhood, location, food, and innkeepers make for a great experience and we have certainly found our home in New York.
P.S. Be sure that you realize that you may have a small room (we typically stay at the W on lex, and it wasnt much bigger) and have to share the bathroom but for the prices, you will not find a better deal.
