Experience a different New York on Manhattan’s West Side at A Garden in Chelsea Bed & Breakfast. Reserve a pleasant apartment in an 1859 Brownstone in the Chelsea Historic District - perfect for out-of-town guests and business people. You'll love this bed and breakfast on a quiet, tree-lined residential street in Manhattan.
Our lovely 1859 Italianate brownstone is in the middle of one of the most beautiful landmark blocks in the historic Chelsea section of New York City...Here you'll find an oasis of peace and quiet in your own fully equipped studio apartment. It is in sharp contrast to the sometimes circus-like atmosphere of many large midtown hotels.
You couldn’t choose a lovelier spot to stay! |

This was the second time I have stayed at the apartment and each time I leave wanting to go back as soon as possible.
The apartment is everything you could want. Beautifully furnished, all the rooms a good size, great natural light, clean, warm and comfortable. It’s in a gorgeous Brownstone building on a picturesque tree-lined street in Chelsea.
There are great local amenities and transport links and is nearby to some wonderful places such as Chelsea Market, the Meatpacking District and The High Line.
A special mention must go to our wonderful hosts Karen and Paul. They are so knowledgeable about the city and are there when you need them and always happy to give you recommendations. I cannot wait until I return.

A comfortable and beautifully decorated place situated in a wonderful part of the city. Check-in was straight forward and Karen was most accommodating in regards to us leaving our luggage for the day. I also loved the little antique stores within walking distance.

A perfect place to stay in New York. Chelsea is a great area to stay - quiet street with beautiful cherry tree in full bloom outside the house. Easy walking to Meatpackers District, Soho and Greenwich Village, really close to the High Line. The room is lovely, looking onto pretty garden, and has everything you need for your stay, including lots of information about the city, what to do and where to eat, provided by the lovely hosts, Karen and Paul, CDs, a complete library of paperbooks. It's like a home from home!

IT HAS BEEN 1st TIME IN N.Y. AND IN THAT BEAUTIFUL "A GARDEN IN CHELSEA B&B" WE FIND VERY NICE SPACE/ATMOSPHERE WHERE TO STAY AND VISIT THE CITY. * SINGLE BEDS WERE INCREDIBLE COMFORTABLE (BETTER THAN MINE AT HOME),
* THE KITCHEN CORNER WAS VERY CLEAN AND USEFULL (WE COOKED SEVERAL TIMES IN B&B AND THIS CHANCE PERMITTED US TO SAVE MONEY)
* BATHROOM WAS LITTLE BUT PERFECTLY CLEAN AND MOST OF ALL THE SHOWER WAS WERY OK AND WATER ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS WARM.
* THE GARDEN (A REAL GARDEN WITH PLANTS_ NOT JUST ONLY A LITTLE LAWN) WAS VERY NICE & TIDY. ONE METAL TABLE & CONFORTABLE WOODS CHAIS WERE LOCATED AND PEOPLE ARE FREE TO USE IT.
* 2 NICE CATS (TESSA & PHOEBI) SOMETIMES ARE SHARING THE GARDEN WITH YOU AND YOU CAN PLAY WITH THEM WITH JOYNESS.
* PAUL (RED SOX'S SUPPORTER) & KAREN (YANKEE'S GIRL) ARE VERY FUNNY PEOPLE. I REMEMBER THEM AS VERY NICE PERSONS, ALWAYS READY TO GIVE YOU SUPPORT AND MEET (IF POSSIBLE) YR NEED. (NEXT TIME I REALLY HOPE TO FIND A BASEBALL-MATCH TICKET).
* ALL WAS O.K. AND HERE IN ITALY WHEREVER I GO TALKING TOGETHER WITH FRIENDS AND PEOPLE WHO IS CURIOUS TO KNOW SOME NEWS ABOUT N.Y., I AM RECOMMENDING THAT BEAUTIFUL "A GARDEN IN CHELSEA".
* KAREN & PAUL, THANKS ! I LOVE N.Y.

Despite of my work experience in several luxury hotels as 'Quality and Service Manager', I prefer staying in B&B's because of the personal service, the spacious rooms, the extra facilities and the price/quality relationship.
Our stay with Karen and Paul not only confirmed the above mentioned aspects but sufficed a lot more. Great advise and suggestions on transportation, events, eateries and other tourist information and a great spacious room with central location in a peacefull neighboarhood with fantastic garden, within walking distance of nice shops, restaurants and the city centre.
I can highly recommend this B&B and would not want to stay anywhere else when coming back to NYC.

We had a fantastic time in NYC and thoroughly enjoyed the accommodations. A Garden in Chelsea is located on a nice, quiet street that is convenient to the subway and lots of great restaurants and shops. We loved having breakfast in the serene garden each morning. The owners were away during our visit, but the housesitter was available to answer questions and fill us in on neighborhood happenings. The next time we head to New York City we hope to stay here again!

I stayed with a friend at the Garden in Chelsea for a week. It is a lovely place from which to explore New York. A friend joined me from Paris (France) who had long dreamed of visiting the USA. Our HOSTS Paul and Karen were attentive and helpful: writing welcoming emails when we inquired about the place, carrying our luggage when we arrived, giving us "tourist" advise on transportation and events, and providing us with a list of suggestions for neighbouring eateries. The ACCOMODATIONS were cozy and comfortable; our hosts had thought of everything: plenty of books to read (including guidebooks to NY), a nice selection of CDs (including Jazz, Broadway shows), pretty and comfortable bedding, and a nicely equipped kitchen if needed. The LOCATION of the Garden was perfect: it was conveniently located in Manhattan close to the subway lines and buses (between 9th and 10th avenue), yet in a quiet and peaceful neighbourhood. We had a long list of places to visit and things to do. The Garden was a nice haven to go back to and relax in the evening. After a long day on the town, we would walk back to our private abode, buy flowers or fruit at the neighbouring market, have a glass of wine at Moran's, or dinner at the classic Empire Diner. Overall the place was PERFECT and played a major part in making our New York stay flawless and unforgettable.
