Set on an acre of lawn and gardens in Hillsdale, New York above a meadow where Cranse Creek flows into the Green River, the Inn at Green River Bed & Breakfast is a charming c. 1830 Federal style home. The inn features seven romantic guestrooms, many with fireplaces, whirlpool tubs, Cable TV and Wi-Fi.
Shaded by ancient sugar maples and overlooking beautiful gardens, the Inn — now in its 24th year — is located in the Hudson River Valley, in the foothills of the Berkshires, a great starting point for a wide variety of activities and events, including the summer home of the Boston Symphony - Tanglewood, Shakespeare & Co, Barrington Stage, Berkshire Theater Festival and museums and historic sites such as the Norman Rockwell Museum, Hancock Shaker Village, Mass MoCA, the Clarke Art Institute, Olana, Naumkeag, Clermont and Lindenwald.
Bounded by two rivers, the Housatonic and the Hudson, the area is known for its beautiful countryside with numerous parks, biking and hiking trails, lakes and streams. Tour nearby vineyards, visit farmstands, pick apples in the many orchards in the fall and at the end of the day enjoy a fabulous dinner at one of many excellent restaurants which show case the produce, meats and cheeses of local Hudson Valley and Berkshire farmers. |

We had a great time at the Inn. Deborah was a fantastic host who was so accommodating to all of our needs. The Inn is beautiful and well maintained. We've stayed at other B&Bs in the area but not one as wonderful as the Inn at Green River. The rooms are gorgeous and the grounds lovely. Breakfast was great with home made scones and a "to order" omelette! We were very pleased and would stay again! Thank you Deborah!!

We are seasoned B&B guests and have traveled all over the east coast, mostly because we love getting away but also because we are seriously contemplating becoming Inn Keepers ourselves. We always "rate" the inns we stay at among ourselves, saying "I would do this differently, or, I love how they did this" Debra's Inn is a hit in our book. The clean, country feel that is not cluttered or overdone is very much our style. Beds and sheets are perfect. Bathroom...perfect. Breakfast....extremely perfect (I feel qualified to say, I am a chef myself). Since I believe there always room for improvement the only suggestion I would make is have coffee readily available at all times. Maybe a Keurig machine or something of that sort. We just happen to be big coffee fans but it may not apply to the general population. I did notice her tea selection was fabulous and served "perfectly". Over all I so enjoyed our stay and would have liked to linger a bit longer. Perhaps next time, which would be our third visit, we could indulge ourselves a bit more. I look forward to it!

P.S. By the way, Debra's dining suggestions were the "Bomb"

This atmosphere is outstandiing. I know children are welcome, but if you are looking for a relaxing getaway this is it. We spend just 1 night and were disappointed we could not stay longer. The room was perfect, quiet, the inn is beautiful. Deborah was great, aside from providing endless comforts, she pointed out some great dinner ideas. Breakfact was beyond your average "hotel breakfast". It was a full home cooked meal with some unique touches. Thank you!

The innkeeper, Deb, was friendly and accommodating when we had to make last-minute changes in arrival times. The room was tidy and well-kept, the atmosphere and common areas warm and friendly. We made new friends among the clientele and were happy to see that the inn attracted kindred spirits -- nice, interesting, friendly people! Breakfasts were beautifully made and served in a sunny, inviting room. Deb made perfect recommendations for things to do and places to visit. Quiet, low-key, well-appointed, sunny -- perfect. We will return.

We stayed at this lovely Inn for a quiet romantic weekend and that is just what we got. The owner makes you feel at home and is a wonderful cook. We recommend this Inn and will go back.

This Inn was great! Deborah, the Innkeeper, arranged a cheesemaking class for us, and it was very interesting and fun. She also told us of a short cut to get to Tanglewood that saved us a lot of travel time. Breakfast was terrific, and the hospitality was superb! It was nice and quiet and very well kept.

Deborah is a first class innkeeper. She offered excellent recommendations for local sights and restaurants, and sent us on the scenic back roads to Tanglewood and surrounding towns.
The rooms are beautiful - no pink and blue flounces here - Deborah has a real eye for quiet elegance. Lovely grounds to enjoy. And wonderful breakfasts! Each day was a new treat (perfect thin pancakes with a slice of pear in the center! Baked plum with Greek yogurt and honey!). This inn is a little out of the way (quieter) and well worth the ten extra minutes travel time to all Berkshire towns.

My new husband and I stayed at this inn for the first three nights of our honeymoon. We loved the peaceful comfort of our room, as well as afternoons lounging in the backyard and reminiscing about the wedding. The breakfasts were also superb!

An outstanding bed and breakfast. Beautiful antiques, lovely grounds, superior rooms. Bathrooms were new and very clean. The innkeeper was very helpful about information concerning the area. We were very pleased with our B & B experience.
