Though the history of a house may add to its charm, it is its history as a home which makes Portobello Inn such a wonderful place to visit. Walk into our grand entrance and step back into a quieter time.

Library
Enjoy a book from one of our Library shelves, located near our grand entrance. Throughout the Inn, a variety of books and current periodicals are available for you to peruse at your leisure.

West Dining Room & Solarium
The West Dining Room is bathed in natural daylight and alive with lush greenery. Enjoy a casual meal or use as a private meeting room.

Our East Dining Room
As you follow the aromas of fresh baked goods, frying bacon or freshly ground and brewed coffee, discover our spacious East Dining Room.

Breakfast at Portobello Inn
We welcome each day with a Full Country Breakfast. Wake up to the smell of fresh ground and brewed coffee or select your favorite Tea from our extensive variety. Along with your favorite beverage, enjoy fresh baked muffins, warm fruit cobbler, baked quiche or strata, baked French toast or Roland's favorite "Ham Scrams" with creamy melted NY State Cheddar Cheese. Also enjoy fresh seasonal fruit compote and varietal cereals.

The Parlor
Come relax in our spacious Parlor. Snuggle up in one of our overstuffed wingback chairs, sit near our working Victorian Italian marble fireplace, play our baby grand piano, meet old friends or make new ones.

Parlor Music
Enjoy music from our refurbished Iver's & Pond baby grand piano - which once graced the stage of the old Avon Theater, (a Burlesque House!) in Utica, NY.

The Vassar
The Vassar is one of the Inn’s premier rooms. It has a vintage Florentine king-size bed which is the centerpiece of the room. The mattresses for Portobello Inn were especially made for us by the Therapedic Co. of Buffalo, N.Y. The Vassar, as with all of our bedrooms, has a private bathroom with many fine appointments and amenities, including plush terry robes. The bedroom also has extended-channel cable TV with HBO, CD Radio Alarm, a writing desk, comfortable seating area, a ceiling fan, A/C, ceiling fan, a Homedics Sound Spa and Secure Wireless Internet.

The Darius Small
The Darius Small, also one of our premier rooms, is named after the builder of the 1840 portion of the home. It has a queen-sized four-poster bed in which to stretch out and enjoy the comfort. The Darius Small, as with all of our bedrooms, has a new private bathroom with many fine appointments and amenities, including soft and fluffy terry robes. The bedroom also has extended-channel cable TV with HBO, a writing desk, comfortable chairs, A/C, cailing fan, a Homedics Sound Spa and Secure Wireless Internet.

The Arlington
The Arlington, is affectionately dubbed our "Oriental Room," because the decorative theme of the room is distinctly Chinese. The special lacquered oriental style Henredon queen bed is designed in the "bamboo style." Furniture, wicker, mirrors, lamps, art, drapes and other appointments also reflect eastern influences and design. The Arlington, as with all of our bedrooms, has a new private bathroom (with antique marble sink) with many fine appointments and amenities, including soft and fluffy terry robes. The bedroom also has extended-channel cable TV with HBO, a writing desk, a comfortable chair, A/C, ceiling fan, a Homedics Sound Spa and Secure Wireless Internet.

The Clobridge
The Clobridge, one of our cozier rooms, is named for the daughter and Civil War veteran son-in-law of Darius Small, and for whom the new section of the house (1866!) was built. Have a restful night’s sleep on our European queen-size bed which is a comfort to experience. The Clobridge, as with all of our bedrooms, has a new private bathroom (with antique marble sink) with many fine appointments and amenities, including plush terry robes.
