New York's Catskill Mountains are home to the Inn at Lake Joseph in Forestburgh, NY. The Inn, with its Adirondack style Cottage and Carriage House sits on a 250-acre private lake about two hours from New York City.
Like resort lodging, the Inn at Lake Joseph provides a huge variety of summer and winter recreational facilities, including the use of a nearby full-service health and fitness club. But unlike larger hotels, the inn, with just 17 guestrooms, is an informal, casual country retreat that assures guests a relaxing, private, rustic mountain lake environment.
Most guestrooms include private whirlpools, fireplaces and sundecks. Activities include swimming, fishing, boating, kayaking, hiking, tennis, bicycling cross country skiing, tobogganing, snow shoeing and a health club. Guestrooms where pets are welcome have their own private entrances.
