We had a wonderful weeklong stay at the Bed & Breakfast at Oliver Phelps. Our room was warmly appointed and very comfortable, with lots of space for our belongings. The breakfasts do … read moreindeed live up to the raves of previous reviewers, but we'd like to add a few notes: Jack and Donna were exceptionally accommodating to several food allergies we had--seamlessly working around them--and the breakfasts were the best 'fuel for the day' (for our very active vacationing style) that we've ever encountered. The breakfast offerings were exceedingly healthy, and healthily prepared, yet so flavorful and filling with sumptuous fruit courses, unique and satisfying baked goods, and delicious entres. What we found of greatest value were our hosts generous and resourceful advice and suggestions to our many inquiries regarding local/regional activities, restaurants, shops, directions, and the inevitable rainy-day alternatives. As we are Rails-to-Trails bicyclists, we particularly appreciated their shared wisdom in helping us select the best options for our desires. We stayed for one evening in August In the Green Crest room. The room and adjoining bath is beautifully decorated, clean & the entire Inn is graciously appointed. Our hosts Jack and Donna are warm, accommodating and a delight to deal with. Breakfast was superb as well. We highly recommend this Inn and will be returning in a month or two for another stay.

I booked the "Greencrest" room for Aug. 12th. They could only accommodate us for one night. When we arrived, I thought the room looked different from what I saw on line. When I paid with my credit card, the price seemed higher than what was quoted. Now that I am back home and checked on their website again I see that we were put in the suite, not the room we had originally booked and it was $25.00 more. Another disappointment not really related to the B&B - dinner at Casa Pasta - lousy and expensive.

The guest is absolutely correct. They were given our suite instead of our queen room by mistake and unfortunately they never mentioned it to us even when they checked out. Such a mistake should never happen but on those rare occasions when we fail as Innkeepers we do everything we can to make it right. A refund will be given immediately along with our sincere apologies. Unfortunately, we have no control over the quality nor the prices at our local restaurants and we do feel it is a bit unfair to review a restaurant on our site. However, we are happy to pass along any comments.

It was the second time we've stayed with Jack and Donna and we've been delighted both times. The Inn is lovely with so many gracious touches. The breakfasts are superb. Jack has planned lots of wonderful bike rides for us. And both Donna and Jack can't do enough to please. We hope to be back.
