Dining Room The Madeleine beautifully reflects the construction the railroad made possible in once-isolated Santa Fe. Preston must have enjoyed the Madeleine's turrets, steep-pitched pressed metal roofs and the ornamental detailing of the graceful Queen Anne style.

The Parlor Imagine him beneath the parlor's domed ceiling making business decisions over whiskey and cigars with his influential friends. Perhaps their wives chatted in the comfortable sitting rooms, warmed by two Edwardian fireplaces, or sipped lemonade outside on the spacious front porch in the summertime.

Columbine This ground floor room evokes a real turn-of-the-century feeling, from the carefully chosen antique furnishings to the architectural detailing. Of note are the bay windows which feature beautiful original stained glass windows. Another distinctive feature of this room is the hand-carved woodwork seen in the wall moldings and the ornately carved fireplace. Because of the magnificent and massive king bed, there is not a lot of floor space in this room. There is one armchair in the room itself, and additional comfortable seating in the reading nook just outside the room, as well as in the living room. For a more spacious room with a king bed, please view the Forsythia, Violet or Morning Glory rooms.

Hyacinth The windows of this sunny and spacious room face the back garden and are level with our 100 year old apricot tree. Antique reproduction wallpaper and a four poster carved wood bed, covered with a handmade quilt, remind one of bygone times. There is also a Victorian writing desk in a window alcove, should the writing muses pass your way.

Ivy Tucked away on the third floor, up a rather steep flight of stairs, the Ivy is a perfect place to hide away. The angled ceilings of both the bedroom and the sitting room lend a great deal of character to this suite.
