An uncommon inn on the Rio Grande Gorge, just north of Taos, New Mexico.
Dobson House sits at 7,000 feet on a 100 foot hill in a rift valley overlooking the Rio Grande Gorge, near natural hot springs. All around there are mountains and desert. You can see 50 miles in all directions!
From the common room, you can see Los Alamos, San Antonio Mountain (the largest free standing mountain in the US), Ute Mountain (on the Colorado border), about 50 miles of the Sangre de Cristo Range , the Rio Grande Gorge north of Taos. You can walk to the gorge and down the old stagecoach trail to Manby Hot Springs on the river.- Recreation and Activities include ballooning, crosscountry and downhill skiing, fishing, hiking, biking, bird watching, climbing, kayaking, and white water rafting. You can even take a llama trek!
- Attractions and Special Events include Manby Hot Springs, Taos Pueblo, Taos Ski Valley, Wheeler Peak, Cumbres & Toltec Railroad, Bandelier National Monument, Millicent Rogers Museum, Wild Rivers Recreation Area, Picuris Pueblo, art galleries.
- Special Events at the Dobson House include weddings, receptions and day seminars with catering available.
