The B&B is nestled in a country setting. Even though there are other properties around you feel as if you are in a land all to yourself. The room was very clean. The food fantastic and the staff went far and beyond to make you feel as if you were family. You could hear the sounds of the country. Outside our room we could watch the unusual birds come into feed. The house cat was loveable and added to the homey feel. I enjoyed sitting in the hot tub after a day of seeing the spectacular sites of Sante Fe and Taos. The place was fantastic to soak in local culture and experience a great authentic New Mexico experience. We came away feeling relaxed, refreshed and more educated due to the people at the B&B. The cook was a wealth of information about local folklore. A visit with Consuela was worth the entire trip!!

Christmas Eve and Day in Chimayó, New Mexico, was filled with the charms of one of the State’s historic northern towns. We stayed at Casa Escondida, a traditional farm house in Territorial style set in the valley of the Santa Cruz river. Our delightful room included a lovely bath, decorated with Mexican ceramic tiles, antique furnishings, spanking clean and bright. After a festive dinner at the nearby Restaurant Rancho Chimayó, we went to the Santuario de Chimayó, built in 1816 to see the adobe chapel lit with thousands of lights before returning to the Casa. The next morning we walked through the warm, fire-lit home center to the dining area for a breakfast of fresh fruit, Spanish eggs, tortillas, ham and fried potatoes, with wonderful coffee. Christmas Mass at the Santuario ended a perfect get-away Christmas vacation.
Art studios, and Smithsonian-level weaving establishments dot the town’s landscape, and visits to Taos or Santa Fe are within a thirty-mile radius. Our hostess, Belinda, was a friendly and interesting lady welcoming her visitors with enthusiasm. This is well worth a return visit.

Friendly; They left the light on and diections to our room when we needed to come in late. Excellent breakfasts, especially a northern New Mexico style egg souffle dish. Friendly staff.Quiet and peaceful. Close to more lively attractions in every direction, if you choose to explore them.
