In the evening, relax on the verandah and watch horse-drawn carriages tour the streets of Cape May. Or, sip a glass of sherry by a crackling fire before turning in for the night.

Built in 1892 by a whaling captain, this Colonial Revival-style inn features leaded, stained glass windows and a graceful wraparound verandah appointed with wicker. Once inside, you will find striking antiques, fresh flowers and lace window treatments throughout.

The most direct route to Cape May is via the Garden State Parkway which ends in Cape May and becomes Lafayette Street. To reach our inn, continue straight to the second traffic light (Ocean Street) and turn left. Continue straight for two and a half blocks. The Fairthorne is on the left.

If you come to Cape May via the Cape May - Lewes Ferry, follow the signs along Ferry Road to Cape May.
