The John Wesley Inn & Carriage House

The family parlor, a gathering place for generations, remains the focal point of activity today. Guests may partake of the warmth of the fireplace on a winter’s night or relax with a book on our antique, damask settee. The family piano may host guest musicians for your listening pleasure as a leisurely, summer afternoon drifts by.

The dining room’s wainscot, plate rail, antique brass chandelier and the family silver suggests a time long ago when large families and groups of friends gathered around the table for sharing food and conversation.

Sun Room – Palladian windows, skylights, music and a complete wet bar offer a great backdrop after a day at the beach or sight seeing. The combination of couches, sitting areas and antique wrought iron table and chair set create a comfortable setting for reading, relaxation, card playing or board games.

The Stockton
#1 The Stockton, our premier and most spacious room in the Inn, features a beautiful fireplace. The room includes a magnificent Victorian bedroom set with a pillow-top queen bed. The private bath has a shower/tub and dressing table. There is a private (9x20) front porch with a beautiful view of Stockton Row and a glimpse of the ocean. A double sized Murphy bed is also available, when arrangements are made in advance. A new LCD TV, and DVD player, as well as, an iPod docking station complete the updated amenities in this lovely room.

The Windsor
#2 The Windsor hosts a turn of the century bedroom set with a queen-sized bed and private bath. A newly installed fireplace rounds out the cozy atmosphere in this room. This second floor room hosts a new LCD television and iPod docking station. The decor offers white lace curtains covering double windows and blue and white oriental rugs. An antique dressing table invites you to sit and ease back into time while preparing for the day.

The Marquis De Lafayette
#3 The Marquis de Lafayette is our second largest room. This spacious room and private bath is on the second floor. It is furnished with an Empire style queen bed and walnut furniture. There is also an alcove sitting area housing an antique settee where you can enjoy the private fireplace. Other amenities include a LCD television and iPod docking station. Relax and enjoy the many extras this lovely room has to offer.

The Mt. Vernon
#5 The new Mt. Vernon, top floor suite with skylight, hosts a spacious sitting room which includes a fireplace, LCD TV and DVD player. The adjoining bedroom, separated by French doors, is a corner room that overlooks historic Stockton Row. It has a king size bed with a pillow top mattress. The bedroom also has a fireplace and LCD TV for your added enjoyment. An iPod docking station rounds out the special amenities in this suite. The private bath features a “Sanijet” hydrotherapy whirlpool tub that is found in premier hotels and luxury resorts and spas throughout the world.

The Columbia
#6 The Columbia, located on the third floor is steps away from our spacious sun parlor. A queen-sized 4 poster bed and private bath is yours. Remote controls allow you to adjust the temperature and LCD TV from your bedside. There is also an iPod docking station for you music lovers. Victorian sitting chair and tea table provide a cozy place to sip your afternoon tea and unwind in privacy. The skylight gives an open and airy feeling.

The John Wesley
#7 The John Wesley is decorated in late Victorian decor. The cathedral ceiling and skylight offer openness, while the beautiful fireplace makes the room feel cozy. The queen sized pillow-top mattress and private bath insure personal comfort. Amenities include a LCD television and iPod docking station. This room is conveniently located next to our sunroom, featuring an additional area for relaxation and a full wet bar.

The Newly Restored Two-story Carriage House
The Carriage House is separate and private from the main building and has been designed to accommodate 4 people. Rented weekly during the season and daily in the off-season. The first floor has a porch, living room, dining area, complete kitchen and a Queen Murphy bed. The second floor has a very large bedroom and bath, beautifully appointed in Victorian decor. Outside the bedroom is a private balcony. Central air and heating. Rate includes on-site parking.

The newly restored two-story Carriage House is separate and private from the main building. It has been designed to accommodate 4 people. During the season, the Carriage House is rented weekly, similar to a condominium. Off-season weekend rentals are also available. Pillows, mattress pads and blankets are provided. Daily breakfast and maid service is not included. Linens are not provided. The first floor has a living room, dining area and complete kitchen. A queen Murphy bed in the living room, is available for additional family members or another couple. The second floor has a very large bedroom featuring a queen-sized bed, beautifully appointed in Victorian decor. A large bathroom is also located on this floor. Outside the bedroom is a private balcony made just for two. Both floors have TV’s and VCR/DVD players. Central air conditioning for summer cooling and winter heating. Rate includes on-site parking for 1 vehicle.
