Courtyard
This picture of the courtyard shows the back and a side of the Guest House. The sun room that is part of the "Greenhouse" is in the center; the water garden is partially visible off to the right; and a section of the Main House shows on the left.

Garden
In June 2007, the Gardens was one of the lovely neighborhood gardens that were featured on the annual Portsmouth Pocket Garden tour. The gardens have changed since this picture was taken and you will see many wonderful new species and many of the bushes have grown significantly.

Winter Parlor
The newly decorated Winter Parlor is available for guests to enjoy from November through April when the snow blankets the gardens and thoughts turn indoors. Featuring period antiques, loveseat, armchairs and a marble table for parlor games, the Winter Parlor is an ideal place to relax for afternoon tea or a little light reading before retiring for the night. Take a walk in the morning before breakfast and return to the Parlor to read the newspaper before indulging in breakfast.

Dining Room
A full country breakfast is served in our elegant dining room. Mahogany antique furniture, oriental porcelain accessories, classic window treatments, fine art work, and distinctive wall papers combine to create a memorable dining experience.

Noonday
This sunny room with bonus sunporch is a favorite of our guests with many returning year after year. The bedroom itself has a queen-size spindle bed as well as an antique mahogany writing table and chair. The adjoining sitting room opens onto a sun porch furnished with wicker chairs and coffee table that overlooks a brick courtyard with a lush water garden.

Cathedral
This large, formal, Federal-style bedroom with full private bathroom in the Main House has a queen-size canopy bed with English bed dressings. The original wide-pine-board floor is circa 1815. Antiques include a large mahogany English armoire, a mahogany writing table with a centennial series mahogany chair, as well as mahogany lamp stands. A camelback love seat and wingback chair provide comfortable seating for reading and conversation.

Ranger
This is a large, cheery room with full private bathroom. Newly decorated, Ranger is available from May through October. It features a queen bed, as well as a twin bed which provides a comfortable alternative for friends traveling together. Both are antique mahogany pineapple four-poster beds. Other antiques include a mahogany English armoire, mahogany lamp stands, and a secretary desk with shield back chair.

Nightingale
This spacious, elegant room with an Oriental influence has a queen-size bed with an arch top. You will enjoy this sunny room with its mahogany English armoire, writing table, and two armchairs. The room is on the first floor of the Guest House and has a private en-suite bathroom with stall shower.
