The Buttonwood Inn on Mount Surprise offers a rural setting that is close to some of the finest American and other cultural cuisine in the area, as well as many naturally wondrous attractions. In winter, cross country or downhill skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, sleigh rides, and restaurants are all nearby including our own backyard. Hiking, biking, canoeing, kayaking, Mt. Washington tours and our own heated outdoor pool and hot tub with views of the forest, mountains, and starry skies. Theatre and name-brand outlet shopping are available year 'round. Visit the Buttonwood Inn for a romantic getaway, family vacation, reunion or retreat.
An 1820's farmhouse, the bed & breakfast retains a country atmosphere featuring wide pine floors, antiques, quilts, and period stenciling. Join Paula in the kitchen for an early morning cup of coffee while she prepares the morning’s starter and entree. Bill is always happy to help you plan your day, or offer recommendations for many of the local sights. In cool months enjoy afternoon tea and sweets by the fireplace in the Mount Surprise Room, or in the living room.
