Garth Woodside Mansion Bed & Breakfast Inn is located in the charmed town, often hailed as "America's Hometown", Hannibal, Missouri. Here you will be treated as friends while you enjoy romantic surroundings and attention to detail. The inn offers large smoke-free guest rooms and suites in the mansion, each elegantly appointed with Victorian antiques, all with a private bath. Each room has a hypo-allergenic featherbed. We have carefully selected fabrics, materials, and textures to blend with one of the finest 19th century furniture collections in the Midwest. Charming amenities include custom made bath soaps of bayberry and unscented oatmeal. In such peaceful surroundings, 20th century troubles seem to float away. The 40 acre estate also features 3 cottages, each in a private building.
You will find the mansion a place to slow down, where you will experience a time when life held more journeys and less destination. This private, Victorian estate is nestled on 36 acres of Rolling Meadows, tall woodlands, and flowered gardens. A must stop, the inn focuses on the warmth and simple beauty provided by nature. Days can be spent on the veranda admiring the flight of a hummingbird. Or walk the grounds; curl up with a book by the pond, or sit on the balcony catching a cool breeze. The inn has captured the spirit of adventure with Tom Sawyer, Huck Finn, Becky Thatcher, and Mark Twain's stories about life on the Mississippi River. So come see why it has been called the finest lodging in Hannibal and one of the "Top Ten Inns" in the Midwest.
"I spent many nights with John and Helen Garth in their spacious, beautiful home,"
Mark Twain wrote to his wife, Olivia, in 1882. "We started getting ready for your visit over 100 years ago"...

This is the best Bed and Breakfast we have ever stayed at. The "Mansion" has a romantic splendor all its own. I can't imagine finding a place to top this one.

Julie makes the best hot chocolate with marshmallows I've ever had. I really had a great time, and I can't wait to return!

It was our first experience at a B&B and we really enjoyed our visit. The innkeeper was a wonderful host and made us feel very much at home. I doubt that we could go to any other B&B and receive the same level of hospitality. We definitely plan to become regular visitors and are already planning our next stay!

Incredible antiques. Hosts were warm and informative, yet unobtrusive. Worth the money. It's the only place I'd stay if I were in the area.
