Welcome to The Corners Mansion Inn Bed & Breakfast in Vicksburg, MS. The inn is a true Southern Mansion with original parterre gardens and a view of the Mississippi. It is only fitting that this warm and inviting home, The Corners, is today the setting for many weddings and gala bridal parties. It was built as a wedding gift by John A. Klein for his daughter, Susan, and her husband Isaac Bonham when they married in 1872.
Built to overlook the majestic Mississippi River, the home today is a popular bed and breakfast inn. It boasts fifteen bedrooms and two suites. The first floor of the mansion affords comfortable common areas for guests to enjoy including a large double parlor, morning room and gallery. The hand pierced columns surrounding the front gallery are unique to Vicksburg and are known in architectural circles as Vicksburg Columns.
Built during the period of Reconstruction, the home reflects several architectural styles: Italianate, Classic Revival, and from the front the style of a Southern Louisiana Raised Cottage with its seventy foot elevated gallery. The inn is a wonderful vantage point for viewing sunsets over the Mississippi River. |
