Extraordinary stay! Probably finest B&B my wife and I have ever visited. Very, very special in so many ways. Close to many attractions in Memphis and to local color in Hernando (blue grass and gospel music and eateries). Stayed in skylight room where we went to sleep under the stars. Only B&B we've seen that features its own indoor pool -- surrounded by tropical plants and under a stained-glass paneled ceiling. Wow! Terrific food and most important, a most congenial host who provided us with a brief but memorable farewell guitar performance as we departed. We were so impressed with Sassafras that we reserved a four-day stay for August, 2012 to observe our 50th wedding anniversary. Can't think of a better place to renew our vows.

This was our third visit to this B&B. And each time our stay has been wonderful. Our host, Eric, was very friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. I highly recommend if you are looking for a quiet or romantic getaway.

It was quite romantic! Eric is hospitable and knowledgeable. He knew of places in Memphis, for example, as well as Hernando, and so this made it easier for us to tour the area. The amenities were excellent, and the room was comfortable and nicely decorated. The breakfast, too, was good! (It kept us so full that we didn't eat lunch until after 2 pm!) We went for an anniversary get-away, and it was an unforgettable experience. My wife didn't tell me where we were going until we stopped for lunch. What a surprise! This far exceeded any expectations I had. It was a dream come true. We can't wait to go back.

We had a wonderful time at this lovely bed and breakfast inn and can't recommend it highly enough. The location is perfect: quiet, peaceful, safe and relaxing with all the amenities and yet only 20 minutes from the heart of Memphis. Eric is the perfect host and he really deserves 6 stars for his attentive hospitality! We were there during the Memphis flooding but the property is well away from the Mississippi river and so the high water levels didn't affect us at all and almost all the attractions in Memphis were open.

This was an absolutely outstanding place to stay! I really liked the atmosphere and the place was impeccably clean which I find very important. Only 20 minutes from downtown Memphis, TN and very convenient to all of the sites that we wanted to visit during our stay. The Inn owner, Eric was so very helpful while planning the trip and assisted with setting up some surprises for my girlfriend’s birthday, he really goes above and beyond and runs a great place. Staying here is a no brainer, reasonably priced, quiet, clean and very cozy. As a couple we have been to many bed and breakfasts around the country, this place is THE BEST…

This was our first B & B experience and it was wonderful!! Eric was a great host he made us feel welcome during our entire stay. The house is very nicely decorated and quite comfortable. Breakfast was awesome and the tootsie rolls were a nice touch throughout the day. Very convenient to Memphis and/or Tunica. Looking forward to returning whenever we are in the area again.

WE MET ERIC ONE NITE ON BEALE ST. HE INTORUCED HIMSELF AND TOLD US ABOUT HIS BED AND BREAKFAST. FINALLY MY HUSBAND AND I DECIDED TO GO AND IT WAS THE ONE OF THE BEST WEEKEND GETAWAYS WE HAVE HAD. I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET BACK THERE FOR A YEAR NOW. WE'VE BEEN SO BUSY THAT WE HAVEN'T HAD THE TIME. ERIC IS A WONDERFUL HOST. I LOVED EVERYTHING ABOUT THE SASSAFRAS. HE WAS SWO GRACIOUS AND RESPECTABLE OF OUR PRIVACY. I TOLD EVERYONE AND I JUST SO SORRY THAT WE HAVEN'T HAD TIME TO GET BACK. MEETING ERIC WAS THE BEST THING THAT HAPPENED TO US WHILE ON BEALE ST.

Our stay at the Sassafras in was wonderful! My husband and I stayed there three nights for our honeymoon before he left for Iraq. It was very peaceful and enjoyable.

My wife and I were the only guests at this time. Our host, Eric, was fantastic. His southern hospitality was transplanted from the north. He gave us all the information we needed to make our trip to Memphis worthwhile. He even accompanied us one evening to Beale Street at our request. He was our personal DJ playing various types of blues and jazz as my wife and I enjoyed the indoor pool and jacuzzi. His special of staying two nights and getting the third free was a wonderful money saver. It is a place worth staying and is only 15 minutes from the toewn of Blues.
