Service at the Ann Bean Mansion was superb. As a newlywed, it was my first stay at a B&B. Upon arrival, my husband and I were greeted by our hosts, who quickly offered us solitude in our romantic suite. The room had a comfortable king sized bed, a cozy pellet stove, a vintage love seat, and a double whirlpool tub. Ah!
The antique decor fit the period. The glass lamps, vintage bathroom tiles, original radiator and built-in bookshelf made it so romantic. There was also a common parlor with a grand piano, original wooden shutters, and photographs of the Bean family.
We took a lovely evening walk to downtown Stillwater, which is nestled along the banks of the St. Croix River. Our hosts were very helpful in recommending an array of restaurant choices. When we arrived back at the Mansion, although the house was full, we felt as though we were its only guests and slipped easily into a quiet evening together.
Breakfast -- delivered to our private suite -- was delicious: a plate of delicate egg crepes ornamented with chocolate swirls and fresh fruit, a little dish of crème brulee, hearty raspberry muffins, merlot poached pears, orange juice, and coffee.
Every touch, big and small, made our evening at the Ann Bean Mansion truly memorable. My husband and I enjoyed the storybook ambiance and sweet romance.

Our honeymoon was spent in the beautiful Ann Bean Mansion. It was definitely the right choice! The room was spacious and elegant...and the whirlpool was awesome! Erin and Jeremy were amazing hosts for us...they made us feel right at home, and went out of their way to accommodate us. The breakfasts were absolutely delicious, and we appreciated having the option of it being served to our room. Even the location of historic Stillwater was a great place to visit, with much to do around town and the riverfront. It was our first time in a B&B, and we will definately be going back!

This was a perfect place to Honeymoon! We loved the cozy atmosphere of our room and the breakfast was amazing. My husband LOVED the espresso. The hospitality was above and beyond what anyone should expect of the innkeepers. We are definitely planning a trip back!

My fiancee and I visited the Ann Bean Mansion for a two-night stay at the beginning of March, 2009. This was our first excursion to a "B&B," and I would be lying if I said we didn't feel a bit of trepidation, but were quickly put at ease by the welcoming manner in which we were received by innkeepers Erin and Jeremy. They were courteous and gracious, offering us refreshments upon arrival and a tour of the mansion. We spent both nights in "Cynthia's Room," and were delighted by the unique angular architecture and ENORMOUS whirpool bath. The room was comforting and homey, yet luxurious, allowing us to feel as if we were "on vacation" without the sense of displacement and alienation that can occur while traveling away from home. We were served a different multi-course meal each morning and both were excellent. Highly recommended; we will certainly be making a return visit...and the coffee was RAD!

Great surprise for my hubby’s birthday! We adored the mansion, the cozy room, warm fireplace & inviting Jacuzzi, and but above all the hospitality of our hosts went far beyond our expectations. I can still smell breakfast :) We look forward our newfound yearly retreat!

There have been 2 family members of our's stay at the Ann Bean Mansion so we were excited to see what we thought of it. And we weren't disappointed!! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! From the hospitality of Jeremy and Erin, to the food, to the room itself--all were just wonderful. We will hopefully be back soon!

This is actually the second time we have stayed at the Ann Bean Mansion. The second time was better than the first and the third trip is already booked! The home brings you back to what it might have been like to be one of the Bean family. The innkeepers are friendly, accomodating, and they give you your privacy, if that is what you are after. The breakfast is delicious, filling and something you will not find in surrounding restaurants. I can't say enough about this bed and breakfast. If you are planning a trip to Stillwater, don't hesitate. We stayed at another place on Saturday night and compared to Ann Bean, it was disappointing at best! Jeff and Rhonda Meyer, Minnesota

This was just the place that we needed to reconnect as a couple after 16 years of marriage. This property was amazing; such a rich history and impeccably decorated. Our host was extremely accommodating and friendly. Our room was very clean, with a spacious whirlpool and ultra-relaxing bed. We ordered a Victorian Picnic Basket, which we thought would be enough for a snack, but it was loaded with fresh fruit, cheese, crackers, cookies, and chocolates . . . enough to make a meal for us in our room! Everything here was way more than we expected. Breakfast was delivered to our door and consisted of four delicious courses. We will definitely be back!

Great B&B, Best breakfast we've ever had & it got even better the 2nd morning (delivered to the room)! The owners are super friendly and accomodating & the house itself is spectacular. We have already recommended that our friends stay there and are looking forward to our own next stay.

My husband and I needed a retreat from the rat race of corporate America in a metropolis. The Ann Bean Mansion was just the place. We've stayed at B&Bs before, but the hospitality at the Ann Bean Mansion is second to none. The Drews truly love what they do, and it's obvious in every detail. The reception, the room, the out of this world breakfast, good conversation, even the house kitty when she was allowed out, was really what we needed. Whether we wanted to be on the go or just enjoy the outdoors on the porch, this was the perfect get away. I would recommend the Ann Bean Mansion to anyone who needed to get away from the rat race of life.

This was our first time staying at a B&B, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We had been skeptical about going to one because of fear of strange, overly talkative hosts or having to interact at breakfast with strangers. Erin was very hospitable, but not awkwardly so, being a young, vibrant person that was friendly and easy to talk to. There was also the option of having breakfast served to our room, which was a welcome addition to our relaxing stay.
We stayed in Cynthia's room, which we will choose next time we book. Though all the rooms looked wonderful, this one had a king sized bed and a giant, 6 foot whirlpool tub.
The breakfast was amazing, being a four course gourmet meal. I also elected for the "Victorian Basket," which added a nice touch to the experience.
Our stay changed our preconceptions about B&Bs, and we will definitely return.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Ann Bean Mansion in Stillwater, MN. We've been to several B&Bs in the area and the Ann Bean is the most personal and welcoming. Erin is a wonderful host and greats you with a glass of wine and a tour. Our room was spacious, clean, quaint, and quiet. Breakfast was 4 courses and ends with dessert (caramelized pear)!!. Both Jeremy and Erin are gracious hosts and we can't wait to come back next year!

We had two different rooms (both on the third floor) during our stay and both were very pretty. We loved the fireplaces, whirlpools and comfy beds, and exploring the very elegant historical mansion. Having the option of breakfast delivered to your door was great, too, and it was the same menu as served downstairs. The owners were helpful and very nice, and the house cat was a fun bonus.

The Ann Bean is a delightful find.
We have lived in Boston for the past 3 years and have been able to partake in New England's best bed and breakfasts, but the Ann Bean in Stillwater has remained our favorite place to stay.
The owners are a joy! Erin and Jeremy were so fun to talk with in the morning. Erin did everything imaginable to make our stay memorable.
The rooms were clean and roomy-the church bells in the morning are always a nice surprise.
And of course the food is amazing.
We recommend the Ann Bean to all our friends, and send them there for wedding gifts whenever the occasion arises.
We are dreaming of being there again soon...

Innkeepers made you feel like this was an extension of your own home. Welcomed with an invitation of wine, coffee, ice water, hot chocolate or a snack. Then given a tour and overview of the inn and invited to enjoy the parlor. Recommendations given for dinner. Gourmet breakfast served fireside in dining room. Whiskey cinnamon rolls, poached pear w/raspberry compote and vanilla yogurt, vegetable quiche served w/basil roasted potatoes and melon, and finally cherry yogurt w/cookie to cleanse pallet. Inn was very cozy and inviting. Would recommend to everyone and plan on sending family their as a anniversary present. Jeremy & Erin were truly in love with the history and the true elegance of the home.
