The Ann Bean Mansion is the best Stillwater B&B that I have ever stayed at! Innkeepers Jeremy & Erin Drews have made the Ann Bean Mansion the perfect place to get away for romance & relaxation!
The rooms at the Ann Bean Mansion are superb; each boasts lovely decorations, beds as soft as clouds, double (or larger) sized whirlpool tubs to soak your worries away, fireplaces, great CD players with a smattering of soothing CDs for you to listen to, a mini-fridge, cozy bathrobes, & much more. The rest of the mansion that is open to guests boasts warm, inviting nooks & crannies to curl up in to read a book, take a nap, or to gaze out the large windows.
For breakfast, you have the choice of dining with other guests in the main dining room or having breakfast in your room. Not all B&Bs offer guests this choice, which is another great thing that put the Ann Bean Mansion apart of the rest in my mind. Sometimes, you want to socialize & sometimes you just want to hide away in your room & it is great the innkeepers realize this & allow you to have the freedom to choose.
Another great thing I had to mention: the innkeepers asked me if there were any foods that we didn't like & were willing to prepare something for us that didn't include said ingredients! All B&Bs that I know of will prepare breakfasts for people who have dietary restrictions for medical reasons, but none that I've stayed at asked me what foods we'd like to avoid based on our taste buds and/or personal quirks. I was very impressed by the innkeepers attention to detail & caring about what their guests like & dislike.
Breakfast itself--what can I say--I thought I was eating food sent down from heaven! I kid you not! Breakfast consisted of four courses--served one at a time in the dining room or all at once on a tray delivered to your room--and is made from scratch with as many locally-obtained ingredients as possible. We had a crepe which consisted of a delicious fruity filling, fresh fruits, a delicious & huge sausage link, to die for blueberry honey muffins, coffee & juice, some kind of specially prepared pear (I can't remember what it was called), and for dessert, fresh strawberries drizzled with chocolate! Can you say YUM! Well I can!
Everything about this B&B was perfect! The innkeepers let us check-in an hour & a half early without charging us extra! Then we were greeted by Erin-a great woman who is very knowledgeable about the Stillwater area & can give you great tips on places to eat outside of the B&B-with adult beverages of our choice to sip as she showed us around the mansion & took us up to our room. She told us that if we needed anything to let her or her husband know--but we didn't need anything because it seems that she & her husband can read minds & will know what you want in advance!
The mansion has a resident cat, who is a darling--but for those with allergies, don't worry, the innkeepers will keep Kitty tucked away if you so desire. I had no idea a cat lived at the mansion & I have allergies. If you wish, the innkeepers will put a air cleaner in your room too.
I really couldn't find anything wrong with my stay at the Ann Bean Mansion except this: my stay wasn't long enough! I definitely will be going back to the Ann Bean Mansion again in the future!

I spent 4 nights in Stillwater while on business and had the pleasure of staying here. The Mansion is decorated beautifully but most important, the owners Jeremy and Erin were very friendly and hospitable. Erin cooked a wonderful breakfast each morn and my last day when I was trying to leave early, she sent a breakfast to-go care package. I enjoyed the large canopy bed in the E.L. Hersey room and had the fireplace going every evening with the bitter cold weather. It made my business week extra special and I look forward to going back in the summer when I can play more and work less.

This is the best B&B ever. Erin and Jeremy are so welcoming and the breakfast is just outstanding! It just makes these business trips so enjoyable.
The rooms are amazing, grand and relaxing. The baths are great especially in Cynthia's room and The tower view in the tower room is gorgeous. The energy of the house is so relaxing. I just love going back there!
I can't wait for my next trip.
I would recommend anyone staying in the area to stay at the Ann Bean Mansion! It will be your best stay in a B&B!

My girlfriend and I had never been to a bed and breakfast before and the Ann Bean Mansion far exceeded our expectations! Jeremy greeted us at the door and made us feel welcome from the start. The parlor was incredibly cozy and inviting. The home was beautiful; pictures can not do it justice. Our room was amazing; the fireplace, whirlpool, and bed made for a perfect place to get away. We chose to enjoy our breakfast in our room and it was delicious and filling. The hosts were extremely friendly and inviting and went out of their way to make sure we had an amazing experience. I would strongly recommend the Ann Bean Mansion to any couple looking to get away for a romantic evening!

Service at the Ann Bean Mansion was superb. As a newlywed, it was my first stay at a B&B. Upon arrival, my husband and I were greeted by our hosts, who quickly offered us solitude in our romantic suite. The room had a comfortable king sized bed, a cozy pellet stove, a vintage love seat, and a double whirlpool tub. Ah!
The antique decor fit the period. The glass lamps, vintage bathroom tiles, original radiator and built-in bookshelf made it so romantic. There was also a common parlor with a grand piano, original wooden shutters, and photographs of the Bean family.
We took a lovely evening walk to downtown Stillwater, which is nestled along the banks of the St. Croix River. Our hosts were very helpful in recommending an array of restaurant choices. When we arrived back at the Mansion, although the house was full, we felt as though we were its only guests and slipped easily into a quiet evening together.
Breakfast -- delivered to our private suite -- was delicious: a plate of delicate egg crepes ornamented with chocolate swirls and fresh fruit, a little dish of crème brulee, hearty raspberry muffins, merlot poached pears, orange juice, and coffee.
Every touch, big and small, made our evening at the Ann Bean Mansion truly memorable. My husband and I enjoyed the storybook ambiance and sweet romance.

Our honeymoon was spent in the beautiful Ann Bean Mansion. It was definitely the right choice! The room was spacious and elegant...and the whirlpool was awesome! Erin and Jeremy were amazing hosts for us...they made us feel right at home, and went out of their way to accommodate us. The breakfasts were absolutely delicious, and we appreciated having the option of it being served to our room. Even the location of historic Stillwater was a great place to visit, with much to do around town and the riverfront. It was our first time in a B&B, and we will definately be going back!

This was a perfect place to Honeymoon! We loved the cozy atmosphere of our room and the breakfast was amazing. My husband LOVED the espresso. The hospitality was above and beyond what anyone should expect of the innkeepers. We are definitely planning a trip back!

My fiancee and I visited the Ann Bean Mansion for a two-night stay at the beginning of March, 2009. This was our first excursion to a "B&B," and I would be lying if I said we didn't feel a bit of trepidation, but were quickly put at ease by the welcoming manner in which we were received by innkeepers Erin and Jeremy. They were courteous and gracious, offering us refreshments upon arrival and a tour of the mansion. We spent both nights in "Cynthia's Room," and were delighted by the unique angular architecture and ENORMOUS whirpool bath. The room was comforting and homey, yet luxurious, allowing us to feel as if we were "on vacation" without the sense of displacement and alienation that can occur while traveling away from home. We were served a different multi-course meal each morning and both were excellent. Highly recommended; we will certainly be making a return visit...and the coffee was RAD!

Great surprise for my hubby’s birthday! We adored the mansion, the cozy room, warm fireplace & inviting Jacuzzi, and but above all the hospitality of our hosts went far beyond our expectations. I can still smell breakfast :) We look forward our newfound yearly retreat!

There have been 2 family members of our's stay at the Ann Bean Mansion so we were excited to see what we thought of it. And we weren't disappointed!! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! From the hospitality of Jeremy and Erin, to the food, to the room itself--all were just wonderful. We will hopefully be back soon!
