The Candlelight Inn Bed & Breakfast was built in Red Wing Minnesota, in 1877 by Horace Rich, manager of Red Wing Stoneware Company. Over the years, the home was lovingly maintained as a private residence, and in 1989 The Candlelight Bed and Breakfast Inn was established. Today current owners Lynette and Zig Gudrais continue the tradition of preserving this lovely Victorian residence much as it was 131 years ago. One big difference is Free Wi-Fi Internet Access throughout the house.

There are 4 common rooms for you to enjoy while here. There is a parlor draped in elegant décor for you to lounge and converse in. The library, fully furnished with an array of reading material is just down the hall for your convenience. You can enjoy the coziness of the morning inside or on our spacious front porch which is a perfect place in the morning for coffee, tea or juice and a great book. Breakfast in the formal dining room is truly an event, made so by the original chandelier, fine table linens, silver, china, crystal, and of course, Lynette's gourmet breakfast specialties.

Each bedchamber at the Candlelight Inn is tastefully decorated with period antiques and modern amenities. All rooms offer a cozy gas fireplace, a private bath (some with whirlpools) and air-conditioning. Each room has its own, distinct personality, including the butternut suite, queen victoria, rose garden, heritage and Margaret’s room. Your stay at Candlelight includes a full, gourmet breakfast (served in the dining room, front porch or the Butternut Suite); evening appetizers, wine and lemonade; and early morning coffee or tea. It's an easy three block walk to downtown shops, restaurants and Mississippi River-front parks, making us the most convenient bed and breakfast in Red Wing.

Check In Policy:
Check in is from 4:00 to 6:00 PM, or by special arrangement. Between 11:00 and 4:00 PM the inn staff is busy cleaning, polishing and baking, preparing for your visit. Please do not arrive before 4:00 PM because we want everything to be ready by the time you get here.
Check Out Policy:
Check out time is 11:00 AM.
Cancellation Policy:
Room charges are refundable if cancellation is received 14 days or more prior to arrival. For groups reserving 3 or more rooms, the cancellation time is 30 days. Room charges are refundable with less than 14 days notice if we can rent the room for the length of your stay. If we cannot re-rent the room, we will issue a gift certificate good for a future stay.
