My husband and I had never stayed at the Tefft House before, although we are frequent guests at B&B's all over the country. We wanted a little get-a-way to celebrate my husband's birthday, didn't have time to travel far and stumbled upon the Tefft House in Plainview, MN. We live two hours away and had heard we would be very close to Waubasha, MN where the Bald Eagles nest in the spring. I don't remember mentioning to the innkeeper, Steve, that it was my husbands birthday the day after arrival, but breakfast the next morning was a very delicious eggbake, presented with a lit candle atop! Both days' breakfasts were well prepared, mouth wateringly outstanding and presented with a unique flair. Our room was spotless, Victorian [even with the hot tub and fireplace], and had the most comfortable bed we have ever found at any B&B. There were places in the house that we were welcome in to read, watch TV, play games or talk. Everything is in keeping with the Victorian style without being at all "stuffy". Our favorite part of the stay was becoming acquainted with Steve and Marsha. They are warm and friendly, unobtrusive, and, because we chose to spend a little time with them, fun and funny! Everything about our stay at The Tefft House was perfect and exactly what we needed. You can bet we will be back!
