Dakota Lodge Bed & Breakfast David 4.5 08/04/2009 What one first notices about the Dakota Lodge is the great care that the Deb and Al have taken in preparing a wonderful bed and breakfast experience for their guests. The grounds have numerous ferns and trees that have attracted a variety of birds including humming birds. The interior of the home has well-appointed antiques and concern has been taken to ensure the comfort and relaxation of their guests. Many of the rooms have large whirlpools which are always of benefit in encouraging romantic events. The breakfast included delicious muffins, eggs, biscuits, juice, coffee, tea and blueberries. One adopts the bed-and-breakfast route to meet other people and to avoid the one-size fits all approach of the commercial hotels. We certainly enjoyed our conversations with Al and Deb. Both my wife and I enjoyed our stay and would encourage others to consider the Dakota Lodge when visiting Hinckley, MN. We went to ride on the Munger bike trail which is the longest paved bike trail in the United States. You will also enjoy visiting the Hinckley Fire Museum which provides an in-depth history of the Great Hinckley Fire that destroyed Hinckley and other towns in 1894.
