we thought the atmosphere was quaint. the room felt like I was staying at my Grandma's house. I enjoyed reading about Wakefield and looking at the pics. On the down side the bathroom fan was too nosiy-rattly. I felt when I was in the bathroom everyone knew because of the noisy fan. I also had a hard time with the musty smell from the antiques. I have allergies and found it difficult to fall asleep because of the smell. Perhaps what would help is to get rid of the wall to wall carpeting and artificial flowers that hold in smells and dust. The room would have appeared more spacious if it did not have so much clutter. The room appeared clean but with the musty smell it made you feel like perhaps it wasn't.

As an Inn Keeper, I do not get to spend a lot of time in the guests rooms. It is our wonderful guests who let us know of issues that many times we are just not aware of. For those who have allergies, or prefer more open space, please let the Inn/B&B know when making your reservation, we can remove many items from the rooms if needed. Thank you for your input and help in making us better hosts.

Our stay could not have been better and the owner of the inn could not have been nicer. The room was quiet and homey. The coffee and homemade cinnamon rolls were outstanding. The owner made a homemade almond joy cheesecake that was out of this world. We have never stayed at a bed and breakfast and we plan on returning to this country inn!

Dick Swanson is a great host! Even heated up some cinnamon rolls for me to take with me on the road and made sure I had a thermos full of coffee for the trip.

Very clean and comfortable. Great place to relax and have good nights sleep. Enjoyable conversation with the inn keeper. Maid service was worth more than the normal 10% tip.
