My husband & I have stayed at Black River Crossing several times and have never been disappointed! At first it was a place to stay to be close to downhill and cross country skiing--then it became a destination in itself. Owners Stan & Sue are a joy to be with. If there is time during your stay, they will plan trips to local natural attractions such as various points on the Lake Superior shoreline or to one of many area waterfalls. On this trip, they took us for a hike along scenic Maple Creek, ending up on the shore of the lake for a campfire-cooked lunch and rock-hunting. The inn itself is also fantastic. It is beautiful, comfortable, and there are plenty of games to play and books to read in the evenings or on bad-weather days. Anytime you stay in a hotel or B&B, you like to feel as though you're the first one to ever stay in "your" room. After several years of staying at Black River Crossing, the rooms still feel brand-new: fresh, comfortable, and spotless. Mark & I always refer to Black River Crossing as "our absolute favorite B&B" (we've stayed in several in IL, IA, WI, and MI). We recommend it whenever we talk to someone who's planning a trip, and we're looking forward to our next stay!

A Five Star B&B, Hospitality was outstanding, Stan & Sue are terrific hosts, EXCELLENT accomodations as well as activities.

Where would I begin? The beauty is pure. The surroundings quiet and peaceful. The inn is gorgeous yet intimate. My adventures magnificent. Exploring for blue ice, waterfalls, and ice caves was exhilerating and breathtaking beautiful. Relaxing in front of the crackling fire in the evenings with good music, books, games and the other guests was a delight. My stay was at Black River Crossing was absolutely fabulous. Thanks Stan and Sue for making my 44th birthday one that I will always remember. Your hospitality goes beyond words. Sincerely, Cecilia
