This charming little bed and breakfast is literally across the road from Walden Pond, made famous by Henry David Thoreau in his book, "Walden." The innkeeper, Barbara, is one of the nicest people we have ever met. The minute we arrived we felt right at home. We stayed in a really nice little room with a queen bed, and a private bath right next door. The town is just a short drive away, and we went there, drove around, and had a nice dinner. The next morning, we enjoyed a wonderful little breakfast. Then, we walked across the road and enjoyed the tranquility of Walden Pond. All in all, an amazing trip and an amazing B&B.

Barbara is one of the most charming B&B hosts. The setting is serene, I have stayed here many times over the past 20 years - can highly recommend to ALL. Whether you want to visit Boston, but stay OUT of the hubub of the city - or if you just want a relaxing long weekend to commune with nature, this is your place.

The setting is wonderful. We loved being right across the street from Walden Pond - Bring a swimsuit in summer months. It's the perfect swimming hole. We love our innkeeper. Her gracious little details made us feel so much at home. She had a water pitcher and glasses, as well as flowers at the bed side, classical music playing, and books of our all time favorite cartoon characters, Calvin and Hobbes. Her great room is wonderful and provides a beautiful view of the woods and the birds on three sides. If you're a nature lover and/or Thoreau admirer, this is the place for you. And Concord is a great place -- You can visit the Orchard House where Louisa May Alcott wrote Little Women, The Old Manse, where Emerson and Hawthorne each lived, Sleepy Hollow Cemetary, where Alcott, Emerson, Hawthorne, and Thoreau are buried, and more. Your five minutes from The DeCordova sculpture garden, a must see for art lovers.
